why is my electric bill only $50/month

The average electric bill is 200-290 per month. I don't try to save electricity at all. I leave lights on and just live life normally. What are normies spending so much electricity on? srs

Pretty much depends on a ton of variables (of which you provide none, so thanks for that).

I pay on average about 100$/mo for only electricity.

1900 sqft house

Have a heat pump for heating/cooling

It always blows my mind when people describe electric bills above $300.

I assume they must be very wasteful people.

When I was living in AZ in a 1400 square foot house my electric bill never got above $120 in the summer.

Just turning lights off during the day making sure everything is unplugged and switched off alone could probably cut 100 of the bill most peoples houses are lit up like a christmas tree on a sunny day and they wonder why they use so much electricity

120-160/mo...only 70m2 (750 sqft?.) Always turn lights off when can etc. Used to be cheaper, but the previous leftie government decided it was a good idea to abandon fully functioning nuclear plants, cause mah green energy - which turned out to be imported coal based energy instead. Brilliant. So now they are looking at building new ones, but will proabably take a decade - and if the left wins again this year I'd expect they'd do their best to ruin the country as usual.

uh electricity rates vary all over the country. they might just be in a more expensive area. doesnt surprise me at all that california bills are high even if they dont use as much. go look what they charge for gas because of the taxes

Older house/hvac system and I pay between 100 and 200 most months. When I was in San Antonio, I also had an older house and hvac. My temps were set at 78 most summer and my bill was up to 700 a month.

Cost of living. Kind of like how milky tea is only $2 in China.
