blocked or limited all social media and mental health improved significantly (srs)
steps
- uninstall all social media apps from your phone
- download onesec and socialfocus
- add the browser to onesec, so when you attempt to go on the social media website, it forces you to reconsider and take a 10 sec pause
- use the socialfocus extension to hide parts of the app. So with reddit, i blocked the homepage, recommended posts, search bar, up votes/down votes, etc. On youtube I blocked comments and video suggestions after and during a vid, I also blocked the homepage. The comment blocking is the most important part I found (srs). I'd spend more time reading comments while watching the vid than watching the damn vid. Same with all other distracting social media apps, try to use socialfocus to block recommendations and discussions
The extent of my social media now is finding links to reddit through google searches or searching for a youtube video based on a thought I had in my head
I feel like my actions are more active. I'm not just sitting there letting an algorithm pump my brain full of dog shit. Now my brain can rest, think, and I'll actively look for things it wants to look for. I've been spending more time on here, but it's way way less brain dead than algorithms warping you
Would highly recommend (srs). Feel comfortable with my own thoughts.

I've always taken social media breaks and always felt better afterwards, though it can get boring after a while. I don't think our brains can handle the algorithms, comparisons, fake news etc. Just information overload. I don't think the misc is any better tho, it's mostly people fighting, complaining and trolling each other. Not much positivity going around online.

I don't really have a lot of social media; mainly FB which I rarely use and this.
But, when I am taking a break it feels like I'm more productive. for sure.

I still have all of my social media, however I just stopped going on them. Has made life significantly better, especially in regards to females. 100% of all simping the goes on in society is because of gassed up females on social media, and in reality females deserve absolutely no gassing whatsoever.

I was actually wondering if there was a way to block all political posts on reddit since it does serve some uses with specific subjects.

To all the low iq tards who conflate misc with social media
1. Misc isn’t an algorithm designed to suck you in
2. I’m barely on here
3. There are actual discussions and debates on here with real people if you trudge through the dog chit
4. Ask yourself if posting here is at all similar to watching Instagram reels for 2 hours straight. If you come out thinking yes, then you should probably get a vasectomy
