The middle ages, specifically the 13th century. Seems lots of weird and interesting things happened back then. Just far enough away to keep it sort of mystical and difficult to imagine yet enough information to form some opinions of daily life.

Right now, the Hannibals victory at Cannae and WW1 Battle of Verdun
The era I have studied the most is the Germanic Empire from about 1890-the end of ww1. Completely obsessed with it.
Specifically the occult roots of the upper class and how their ideas transformed into what became the Nazi party.
The psychological and spiritual hold the elites had over the common person and how those beliefs became the doctrine of the "mystical" roots of Nazi spirtitualism through embracing their past, believing in the supernatural and basically inventing an alternate history.
All based on the rantings of a few very rich and very influential people. People like Madam Blavatski, Alfred Rosenberg, Guido von List, Jorg Liebenfels whose bullshit was taken up by Johann Eckart and the Thule Society then later Rudolph Hess and Himmler.
It is the modern equivalent of Bohemian Grove Society saying that mankind reached the stars 1000s of years ago and that Americans are descendents of a lost "Jedi" race whose telekinetic powers and martial prowess makes them superior to all other races.

Big fan of the greek and roman era but not sure I'd want to live in it. I wouldn't mind living in medieval northern Europe around 1200-1300 after christianity took hold and the area was mostly peaceful and rapidly building all those quaint towns and beautiful buildings. That era also had a warmer than average climate which led to agricultural surplus and a mercantile/trade economy with surrounding nations.

Medieval warming period between 900-1300AD.
-brb rise of Vikings
-brb Scottish Highlands farming where today its grazing at best
-rise of proto Europe we see today before the black plague hits and resets
Ancient Egypt/civilization in general 2500BC (probably much older)
-Why is Egypts best architecture, pottery and art its oldest?
-Interesting to see a 3000 year old kingdom go through phases
End of last Ice Age 10,000 BC
-last ice age ended abruptly with massive floods, meteor impacts and mass extinction
