i really don't understand how gamestop is surviving.
they closed up a bunch of stores, when they were open they were dirty AF and had a....smell.
i only went in because my kids loved the place so much and occasionally had deals.

Here's what happened here.....

Gamestop holds the equivalent of 5% of all EBay shares in the form of Calls. They announced the "Purchase" of EBay at 25% above current share price, which caused the share price of EBay to go up like 10% in a day. Gamestop has nowhere near enough cash or borrowing to actually make this purchase, and the CNBC host obviously sniffed this out very easily. All they're doing here is a pump and dump using options of EBay stock, and they probably will be sell the Calls sometime around today and buy Puts right before the announcement is made that the deal will fall apart, which will cause the EBay stock to go back to like $80 per share.

Gamestop probably earns $2B during this scheme. The reason Ryan Cohen wasn't giving answers is because he doesn't want to say anything that will put him in prison.

I don’t want to watch it. Did GameStop dun goof? My son had the membership for years and we’d go buy Pokémon every month. Then they raised the price to something stupid so we stopped going.

pretty sure that's wildly illegal, and would be really obvious to expose if true.

im not saying this is wrong, it could be what happened, but it seems too obvious and risky of a venture to me to believe it.
