Well fuck here we go. This virus is not like Covid. The Andes Hantavirus can spread from person to person unlike the other types of Hantaviruses.

And higher mortality rate

The director of the World Health Organization said confirmed and suspected cases have only been reported among the cruise ship’s passengers or crew. “At the moment, there is no sign that we are seeing the start of a larger outbreak,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO director general. He added: “But of course the situation could change, and given the long incubation period of the virus, it’s possible we might see more cases in the coming weeks.”

Don't think there's much threat to the world from this, It takes too long for symptoms to show (main variable of spread, coughing, saliva, etc known as transmission virulence trade off) and it's mortality rate is too high, too early after symptoms. The R0 (basic reproduction number) of Hantavirus is less than 1 typically in human to human variants.

I got that a few years ago as a pre-emptive treatment from my doc at the time after a FWB I was fucking called me and told me she'd tested positive for gonorrhoea. He didn't ask me to get tested; just gave me a shot and a script for azi (1g) and told me to take it post shot. The following four days were the worst of my life - constant nausea, explosive diarrhoea five minutes after eating, stomach felt like it was constantly on fire, joint pain, fever, constant sweats - then after four days, almost nothing. And my dink never leaked.

Sloot stopped talking to me for a bit because she thought I was the source - if I was I was asymptomatic - she claimed when she was banging other people she always rubbered up and knew that I only ever raw dogged. Turns out she copped it again a couple months later while I wasn't talking to her, which was her 'proof' I didn't pass it on and tried to re-establish contact. Only thing that stopped me was potentially having to go through another four days of hell.
