I went out tonight and met some people, and they asked for my IG

They added me but my IG is pathetic with only 61 followers

I never bothered to build it up nor try to actively get a follower count

How pathetic does having only 61 followers look?

Your follower to following ratio matters. I got 200followers following 80. So even though its low count, its fine.

If you got 500 followers and follow 500. You can just do that by following people

Id just delete it if i was u. Mystique for no social media is worth more

I used to tell girls I don't have IG and would lose contact with them after the evenings

So that's why I'm trying to stay connected and give them my IG now... but my IG looks pathetic. Even on dating apps, some girls have asked and we follow each other but they likely see my low follower/low status count and stop messaging me

It depends if you actually post stuff and try to be an "influencer". Some people just have accounts for friends and family and barely use it, in that case it's OK to have a small following

If you always post random shit and add tags trying to get attention, you're a worthless loser if you have less than 100k followers
