70% is fucking WILD. I commuted exclusively via public transit in my late teens/early 20s and it was rare to see anyone skip out on their bus fare. If you tried, the driver would kick you off. Every once in a while some loudmouth piece of shit or crackhead would try arguing and the bus driver would decide it's not worth fighting over, but it was still very uncommon. Of course, back then you had to slide a dollar into the machine in front of their face. Now they have these contactless payment stations that strip away accountability and every transit employee is too horrified of being called racist or getting sucker punched that they'll fold at the first sign of conflict.

Obviously the subway is different. You just hop the turnstile. But over 2/3rds of passengers skipping out on BUS fare is insane to me.

We can't keep putting up with this shit as a society.

It shows you the general level of respect that people in the inner city have for institutions, for civilized society, and that's why you can't coddle these people. The always try to pretend like it's just a couple of bad apples, but clearly, if it's seventy percent, the whole community is a bad apple

If you phrase that differently, only 30% of people are actually paying the fare, which basically means it's free for the majority of people and they are okay with it.

Transit cops also can't really do anything even if they find people skipping on the fare besides kicking them off at that point.

Communism 2.0: Instead of just paying everyone the same, what they do is allow you to make all the money you want, BUT when it comes time to pay, they decided who pays and who doesn't pay, and for those who do pay, how much they pay. So it's like this, you go to the store and buy milk. Person in front of you is also buying milk. First lady pays $1.25 for the milk. So you go up to buy yours and you pay $6.67.

Friend's parents, they were robbed gunpoint. They were caught. From what I understand, of the 3 that robbed them, only 1 actually went to prison and was out in about a year and a half. The others were juveniles even though one was 17 so they got probation. Because black lives matter, that's why. From what I've heard, one of them ended up shooting a cop about a year ago.

So DC is 30% White. Sad
