Beautiful day today boyos . Washed my truck

Finally the weather has improved. I went to the car wash after my walk . I always drive down the highway a few miles to dry the truck off better , just a habit .
Stopped a few miles out of town and took a pic with my phone . I’m going to go back to this spot tomorrow with my Canon camera and a telephoto lens to get a better pic .
I can change the depth of field with my telephoto lens, but the phone can’t do chit

Mirin the backdrop.

Pic would be better from the 3/4 angle if you could park the truck differently.

Get the wheels 3/4 to full lock to the right too, shows the rims off.

Thx , all good points . I didn’t spend much time as I was wishing I had my gear with me , as I’d use the 70mm -200mm and get a great depth of field , kind of pull the mountain in.
Tomorrow maybe .

Lovely day but the light looks hard to work with too. Gonna make the shadows harsh.

Definitely post an update boyo. Making me want to get the Nikon out of the cupboard.

Tell you truth mid day is about as bad as it gets . So after I seen your post and went outside and it’s all hazy AF . If it was decent out still I was going to go back asap .
I do have a polarizer, but regardless I prefer late evenings for this type of pic

I always liked the angle I got with this pic back in the day. I also turned the wheels to get that nice angle on the wheels
I also brought a stepladder to get up a little higher , but y TA could have been centred a little better I guess

That's decent. The rubber marks on the road could probably be used to subtly lead the eye too. It's just unfortunate they're going in the opposite direction of the nice scenery.

BC looks lovely. It's a bit like California around Big Bear.

Interesting , my buddy hates those wheels to . He said they look like wagon wheels ?
Anyways that’s a story by itself . The place that stores my tires and wheels lost them . Factory ones are expensive AF , so I gave the tire shop a break and went with these . The ones I wanted aren’t made anymore , and this was the only thing I liked that they could order .

These are ones I wanted . I had them on my 2013 but the truck got stolen

There are Chinese manufacturers that will cast custom wheels for you. Can't vouch for the quality of any of the companies though.

Ok took a pic in the same spot today , but brought my mirrorless camera so I could change the depth of field . I wish the Canon R6 mark 3 was released when I had the cash cause it has focus stacking . The R5 has it but but you have to do it post , and I don’t have PS anymore . The R6 mark 3 does it in camera , which would be sweet .
It’s not the ideal time of day to take a pic regardless, but I think it’s an improvement. Nice having a polarizing filter also

This is my camera rig that I used

Nah, far better. You're showing off more of the truck. If I was being ultra picky I'd have got rid of whatever is on the ground in front of the truck (can do this in PS) as it ruins the shot a bit. But otherwise brochure-level stuff.

Lmao , I was looking at that and saying I wish I booted that the fk out of the way . Didn’t think anyone was going to notice lol.

I just checked and the camera used a 4F stop on Auto . If I had known that I would have bypassed Auto and used a higher F stop , like the 8-11 range

Ya no question. If I was still paying that Photoshop subscription , I could use the Ai removal tool and it’s absolutely amazing. I just can’t justify paying 40 bucks a month for something that barely use atm .
I paid over a grand for PS CS6 , but of course it doesn’t work anymore

lol it’s all good . I didn’t spend as much time as I normally would , as the lighting conditions were so so . I was kind of interested in going back though with my canon camera to see how I could change the depth of field .
I really wish I could get a wicked sunset with those pink clouds and snow , but every time I go there it’s not happening. One day I was walking out of my garage going holy faurk , Fisher peak lit up pink like I’ve never seen b4 . But it doesn’t help me when I’m home and I’ve only got minutes left to drive there

Yeah that's understandable. There's been a couple times for me where it's like, man if I was a photographer and had a camera I would take a picture of this. Like you said, the situations and settings tend to not last long. It's stored somewhere in my memory and psyche
