If you're just adding a word, this makes it very easy

You just scroll down to a frame you want the word on, write it, size it, drag it to the bit of the screen you want it on, and either let it run until the end or put the number of the frame you want it to end on in.



In terms of complexity, you can't go very far with it. You can do things like this though:



For anything more elaborate (negged/repped bars, green dots flying across the screen, someone's head or face on it) you need to go frame-by-frame on Photoshop or GIMP (the free one) as far as I'm aware. There may be an easier way as I was making these a few years ago (pre AI, other tools have likely advanced too) but I could do a little tutorial on that as well if you want.
