Probably a decade out for large scale take over. I think the thought part will be the transition period. Companies are in it now, freeze hiring and simultaneously phase out current workers and or use them to train their replacement AI. This means the younger white collar generation will have big unemployment and the currently employed will either be on the way out and or unable to move laterally within their fields. Stuck in place until the email comes. Irony is these were the people telling coal miners to learn to code. Well, they might need to learn to dig soon. We are seeing it already with tech companies laying off thousands, as stock hits ATH and earnings match. The opposite of the usual cycle. Their competitors will see this and follow suit. Pretty soon every CEO is going to look at a sea of cubicles and offices and wonder why exactly do we have so many people here? The whole "I only do a few hours of real work" in a day brag will be the justification to can you.
Use data centers as an example. Yes, they employee alot due to start up, but its a skeleton crew monitoring instruments at the end of the day. Expect many workplaces to turn into that on smaller scales.
If we start getting service industry advertisements about "we hire humans" and "A human will be taking your order". Know we have already crossed over.
