Idris Elba shuts down James Bond rumors, says we don't need a woke Bond

--------------

If he were 10-15 years younger he'd probably be the only black guy who coulda pulled it off imo, has the suave and charisma for it

But respect that he respects the source material

His skin color notwithstanding, I think he would've made a fine Bond actually

if it was realistic the cunt would be in his eighties or nineties by now. Might as well give it to Paul Nicholas.

It's James Bond not James Boomer anyway.

Clive Owen or Hugh Grant would have been great years ago but now we have to settle for Tom Holland probably.

Hugh Grant as an action star? I’m not buying that one. Clive Owen could have been good and I’d go for Elba too, he’s got the demeanor for it

Hugh certainly has the charisma going for him but yea he should have been cast in at least one action role when he was younger to have been considered seriously for 007

Isn't that James Bond's schtick ? He's a mature gentleman, not some boy-wonder. Bond is usually in his 40s or 50s. Connery technically was 32, but he looked a lot older

Idris looks closer to Morgan Freeman now with his grey facial hair. Sean Connery never looked that old during his roles lol.

I’m kind of shocked . I was betting on them casting a black lesbian , possibly morbidly obese . Mind blown.

TBH that guy looks like he would be a good fit though

The theory is that, within that universe, there are many different agents who take on that name over the years until they are killed or retire. That's why all the different actors.

Pretty sure they reference prior missions 007 has done from other films in them in the first person. Guess it is like The Simpsons-they never age.

People were so sure Clive was going to be Bond, Heineken shot a print ad featuring him as Bond.
