Why are people saying to buy XRP?

I dont follow cryto. XRP is cheap, I could put $500 towards it and let it sit hoping it blows up in 5 years.

I remember watching a tucker show about some crypto guy that was either the creator or involved in xrp. In the episode he talked about how bitcoin had become corrupted by 3 letter agencies. They got bitcoin to where it became something people hold onto hoping it goes up in value not an actual currency they spend. He wanted xrp to actually become currency people use and spend.
