Swiss vote against immigration cap
We all hear that the people of the west want closed off borders, but when left to vote 52% of the Swiss voted AGAINST an immigration cap to let in more immigrants.
I'd assume most of the other western countries would vote this way as well.
Foreign born population is 30% of their total, and the Swiss are refusing the cap for economic purposes. Their economy cannot grow and innovate without more newcomers.
The Swiss economy is also one of the most advanced in Western Europe.

The vote actually hasn't happened yet. And considering a big amount of their population is migrants, it wouldn't surprise me if those people tilted the vote in that favor.
It's just too bad countries can't pick and choose who they actually let in. Oh wait, they can. They just don't.

Running a population ponzi simply kicks the can down the road, leaving a wonderful gift for your children, or grandchildren.

General Population: Approximately 41% of the permanent resident population (aged 15 and over) has a migration background. This includes both naturalized citizens and foreign nationals.
Foreign-born: 32% of the permanent resident population is foreign-born.
60% of children under age 6 have a foreign born parent.
Conclusion: Its over for the Swiss.

Honestly it's pretty based that 45% of the population was for the cap. That's high.
A national referendum like this held in the US would probably lose by a 2 to 1 margin, with a lot of Recucks voting against it because "its ok as long as they're legul and pay muh taxes"
