So I guess the war is still on?

• New strikes: The US military launched more strikes on Iranian sites around the Strait of Hormuz, saying they came in response to “continued Iranian aggression,” including a drone launch early Saturday morning and an attack earlier this week on a cargo ship in the strait.• Heightened tensions:

US President Donald Trump has threatened more military action if Iranian strikes continue, saying Tehran violated the ceasefire agreement. Back-and-forth developments in the strait are casting further strain on the initial US-Iran agreement, which outlined plans to restore normal marine traffic in the waterway.•

Lebanon conflict: Meanwhile, Israel’s military launched a drone attack in southern Lebanon on Saturday, a day after agreeing to withdraw some troops from the region. The strike, which Lebanon’s Health Ministry said killed one person, highlights the fragility of a ceasefire intended to end the fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

The far-right national security minister has again slammed the framework agreement with Lebanon as a “historic mistake, a terrible missed opportunity, and a lament for generations”.In a post on X, Itamar Ben-Gvr said Israel must “crush” not “anesthetize” Hezbollah. He said the deal gives Hezbollah the “lifeline it has begged for in the form of a ceasefire” and dismissed claims the Lebanese army can dismantle the armed group guarantee the country’s security as a “dangerous illusion”.

“The Lebanese army is weak and infiltrated. Hezbollah members and their supporters are an integral part of this army’s ranks. They have not prevented the buildup of Hezbollah for decades, and nothing will change now,” he said.

Ben-Gvir says he opposed the deal for weeks in the Israeli cabinet before it was signed and that he would continue to do so.

Iran says US violating MoU by trying to set a ‘different corridor’ in Strait of HormuzAbas

Aslani, a senior research fellow at the Center for Middle East Strategic Studies, says the US and Iran are both trying to assert their vision of what a new transit system for the Strait of Hormuz should look like.

“Tehran believes that the US is violating the terms of the MoU by trying to determine a different corridor for the transit of the vessels and tankers that were supposed to go through a determined pathway,” he told Al Jazeera from Tehran. He noted Iran has been holding talks with Oman “to set the new arrangements”, and was planning to talk to regional countries, too.

Iran wants to possess full control of the strait, and be able to extract tolls going forward.

And there’s nothing Trump can do about it.

Iran still has 75% of their missile arsenal, while US munitions have been cut in half, and will take years to replace.

And all you get is more TACO threats with Iranians calling Trump an idiot.

The world isn’t going back to the pre war strait, which proposes a whole host of problems for other choke points.

In conclusion. Trump is a fucking idiot. And the pentagon is hiding how bad the damage was that Iran put on US bases in the ME.

The isreal ceasefire is a joke, and Hezbollah isn’t going to allow the IDF to keep the south as a buffer zone.

This war will go down as being one of the biggest self sabotaging blunders in recent memory.

Trumps presidency began melting down before it, but it was still salvageable especially considering how chitty the Dems are and how they’re basically equally as hated as Trump and the GOP. They still probably would have won the house but now the Senate may very well be gone too

This is what you voted for though. Trump clearly stated before the election he would always side with Israel in a war with Iran.

Yeah I never thought trump was the non-interventionist people said he was, but I at least thought he’d continue with the “no new wars” thing since it’s something that he obviously knows is a winning strategy for him. I would still fully expect him to arm Israel etc in a war against Iran, but honestly did not expect get directly involved like that. Maybe like, one strategic bombing I would expect, if anything

I'm really curious to know what kind of magic they're using to keep oil prices down because it makes no sense. But once this m o u falls apart, which it seems to be doing, i'm guessing oil prices will rocket up again. Biggest unforced error in american history for a president

If the deal falls through we're literally fucked, because there are no more reserves left.

Trump has no option but to capitulate; he's already stated he doesn't want to be the next Herbert Hoover, and that is what he'll be if Iran closes the strait up again.

The russians have been explaining to iran that we will not deliver on our side of the agreement so they shouldnt adhere to it until we deliver and they have been listening

American foreign policy for the last 50 years tells us we made false promises so they would open the strait expecting good faith and then face opposition from the international community if they try to close it again after we reneg

Trump maybe pulls out anyway to focus on his many other wars but the bait and switch failed.

Reserves run out in 2-3 weeks so we may see gas prices go to the moon just in time for the midterms

Gas prices are going up regardless. I'm just curious to see how far they go up lol.

If Iran decides to close it down completely again just LMAO.

Gonna be a blood bath. I wouldn't put it past them.

May as well let the Iranians collect their tolls and let the chaos begin.

Yeah but an effect of lowering prices artificially with reserves could be a huge spike when those reserves go dry

Keep coping. This was a conflict that didn't need to happen started by Israel and fully supported by the US. Period.

Trump thought he could just sweep in and Iran would back off, not realizing that there are countries in the world unlike Cuba, Greenland and Venezuela who can actually stand their ground and tell the US to fuck off.

Everything was fine with Iran until Israel (again, fully supported by the US) started to try to mess around with a country that was fully able to fight back, unlike Palestine. Cowards and bullies only go after smaller people.

The entire world has been affected by this, and the US deserves every bit of bad faith they have created. I hope other trade partners and investors flee to other places, not that the US economy isn't already fucked unless they start printing more money again.

Correct, it shouldn’t have happened because they should have been dealt with a long time ago, instead Obama shipped them pallets of cash like a weak little bitch.

This statement could easily apply to about a dozen countries. Lots of countries fund terrorism towards the US.

Curious how instead of discussing the subject of the war and its benefit to the United States and the long-term implications, you instead default to how to game the market to make money. Which go ahead and do, but that is beside the point.
