60% of GWOT veterans receive 80% disability or more. Over 37% of all veterans are 100% disabled.

The minimum monthly payment for 80% disability is over $2,000 per month.

The minimum payment for 100% disability is $4,000 per month.

That's $24,000-$48,000 per year, for life.

There is massive, massive fraud but nobody wants to talk about it. It's a third rail for politicians.

Understandable, there are undoubtedly people who are actually fucked up.

That's why it's a third rail for politicians to do anything about it.

I can tell you from over a decade of military service that a LOT of people are frauding though.

I've had GS civilians (former military) literally bragging to me about how they maximized their disability percentage. It's a point of pride with some of these guys.

Those are just the ones stupid enough to brag about it.

Just look at those stats. 100% disability means you're typically unable to work or care for yourself. Do you really believe 37% of veterans are unable to work or care for themself?

It's very easy to fake mental health or soft tissue damage.

It was getting abused decades ago. Now it is blatant. There are vids online encouraging it, borderline calling you an idiot for not trying to get as much as possible.

Yah I know a few like this. One gets some absurd number like 6k a month he drives a brand jaguar and does tons of coke. Will never have to work again

I'm a veteran and I have some injuries from the service. But I've never sought a disability rating. That said. I'd prefer every single veteran receive 200% disability, rather than have even 1 more dollar be sent to Israel or Ukraine.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

The fact that there are more women 100% disabled when they don't fight on the front to the degree that men do tell us all we need to know. Cant prove anything mental unlike physical.

The person who I made this thread about yesterday was a veteran. I'm sure the overdose rates among soldiers are high which is why I was curious. It's also why I would think that if a veteran served this country, and died of some awful rare health issue, it would at least be noted instead of just saying the person passed suddenly.

Honestly, I kind of feel like an idiot for not even trying to get a rating on my way out, and yes...there's is a SHITTON of people completely abusing the system. I've witnessed it many, many times, people getting all the way up to 100% for BS.

The ones who actually get fucked up deserve it. The problem is there is a business that has been built around getting vets the max amount possible and sometimes it's guys that haven't even ever been deployed. There are private companies whose job is to get you 100 and in return they take half your amount for the first 5 months. They refer you to their own psychologists and get you a diagnosis. It's been a while since I talked to the couple guys I knew so their amount might have gone up but when they were approved they were getting $3800 per month for life with annual increases. Neither had been deployed they both just got mental health diagnosis.

Meanwhile my friend's uncle who didn't game the system got limbs blown off in Iraq and has been trying to get 100 for years and was just recently approved for 90.

It's all so fuked up. Getting limbs blown off needs to be automatic 100%. Mental health needs a cap at 20% or some chit. One is easily provable. The other is arbitrary and easily exploitable.

I have plenty of friends who need medication and a lot of therapy to stay sober and not go back to the deep end of being suicidal and on drugs again. Many of them have horrific flashbacks of many of their friends dying and having to kill people just because they are brown and defending their homes. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

My anger is directed at the people who didn't see combat and claim the same burden of those who saw their friends blown up. That is stolen sacrifice.

Well thats the thing, it's not just 2K, it's closer to 200 billion per year.

Also, most forget that spouses, etc can become their caregivers thus increasing overall household total income by tens of thousands.

You're being a moron. A HUGE portion of people getting VA disability have never seen combat. Just because one issue exists (war mongering "elites"), doesn't automatically mean that we should completely ignore another issue.

My buddy got disability due to his back hurting from riding waves on his boat in the coast guard.

My old bosses sloot wife got disability due to a nasal surgery went wrong and now she can’t smell.

Prior military, most military game the system as far as they can. I was told how to do xyz before I left to get disability. Seemed dishonest, so I didnt and have 0%....but I can verify that most vets lie to get as much as they can.

How do I prove that? The fact that I was offered advice by every AD member before discharging and, as a civil servant, am still advised by prior military on how I can still make claims? I can't prove it, but I'd be willing to bet a lot that most game the system. Can't fault them, would rather they get the money than some stinking goat fucker.
