For the first time in 6 months, i feel an urge to drink alcohol (SRS)

i successfully went 6 months without alcohol. it was honestly really easy, and i didn't experience any temptations to go back to drinking.

well it's Friday evening, and my mind is telling me that i deserve to drink tonight. it would be a reward for doing so well. it would be a chance to take a break.

what do misc?

should i drink?

should i stay sober?

do not drink donny instead set a new goal of 12 months and re evaluate

if u can do a whole year u have proven u have the discipline i believe 6 months is too short even though it may feel like an eternity

this is what all alcoholics tell themselves. don't do it. don't have that next drink. it's a slippery slope back to hell. it never ends well.

My advice to you is beer only. No liquor. Quit liquor. It's hard to get blackout drunk on beer. It's hard to get into trouble on beer.

My last liquor drink (tequila) was April 4, 2023. It's in my calendar.

it's only when i drink socially that i end up drinking too much. when i go out, there's a lot of stuff going on. people are moving around and rushing to go places. sometimes there isn't enough time to pre-drink properly, or the group decides it's time to leave before you had a chance to finish your drink. it can lead to drinking too quickly.

when i drink alone at home, it is highly controlled. i take one shot every 10 minutes. there is no pressure to drink, no rush to go anywhere. it's so peaceful.
