Getting drunk last night was a great decision - i feel enlightened (SRS)

i made good progress over the past 6 months - i gave up alcohol and i lost over 50 pounds. i proved to myself that i'm hard as fuk and i can accomplish difficult things.

recently though, i've been feeling stuck in a rut. i've been feeling kind of deflated and joyless. i would go on walks and not even listen to music. i was just going through the motions.

when i got drunk last night, i got into a really good mood. i was on YouTube searching up songs i haven't listened to in many years - some songs i hadn't heard in over 10 years! these songs brought back a lot of feels and nostalgia. i feel like i have re-discovered something great that goes beyond alcohol.

today was a good day. i feel like a new person.

no, i'm not drinking today - the liquor stores are already closed. so i was able to get drunk last night, and not continue drinking the next day.

as i like to say - moderation is key in life. if i can keep the drinking to once a week max, i think it can be a valuable thing in my life. something to enjoy responsibly. something to look forward to.

Oh, yes. Based off the self discipline you show consistently, I definitely think you'll limit your alcohol use to once a week max. No doubt.

This won't end well. In a few months you'll be back to drinking every day from once a week. I've done the same thing myself. Don't do it boyo srs

I think the biggest mistake people make when they're going on long-term cut is they block everything else out in life and bore the fuck out of themselves. Some people can sustain it, but others freak out and fall off the wagon and go nuts. So you need to balance your weight loss goals while also making sure there are things in your life that you really enjoy

Feels brah I'm trying to find the moderation sweet spot too. For me it's weed though. Fml man if I go without I end up going nuts and have nothing to look forward to. If I start again I end up doing too much. I've been trying to stay to once/week as well but I've already gone over. It's the only way to cope with the reality of wageslaving for life.

I totally understand your analogy OP . I really looked forward to building beer towers on occasion and pounding my music videos . My gym kind of doubled as a man cave , and if I spilled a drink who gives AF , it’s just rubber flooring .

Hard to believe I dun goofed and now the most I can have is two light fking beers at a time lol . There’s zero point to that imo , as I like to get rinsed once in a while and get away from fking reality .
Nothing worse then having too much clarity and not being able to lose some brain cells on occasion.

I guess the one benefit is going to be that I should have an easier time losing weight . I’d lose 10 pounds from walking and pumping iron in 6 weeks just to gain it all back again getting yucky for one night.
My eating habits do get worse when I have a hangover though , so that didn’t help.

Guess it’s a total and boring AF lifestyle change now srs . HD is looking pretty good now tbh

Repped you for not falling back, but can see how it happens. We're all humans after all.. Don't try to paint it in a good light tho and make excuses. Just own that you had a set back, and then move forward again. You can do it.

You don't owe us any explanations either so props for sharing tbh. Good luck brah. onr/c.

Thought about it but it’s really not my thing . I’d get a 6 pack of beer , but I won’t be enjoying it knowing I’m potentially doing more damage .
I’m very disappoint , but I had a good run I guess

these alcohol induced "highs" is exactly what u need to avoid donny

why ? because they make the normal seem 100x more boring srs

for u to succeed u need to learn to live in the middle

i think it's against every rule in the book to introduce alcohol 1 day every week wtf that will certainly turn ur weekend into a cheat weekend

i'm gonna do an experiment. during the months of July and August, i will drink once a week and see how it impacts my weight.

if it prevents me from losing weight, then i will go back to complete sobriety in September.

so it begins. alcohol is crazy good at seducing the mind and making it rationalize

Yes I think it’s time to fast again . I did one a few months back and it went better than I thought . Made it 43 hours , but when I started doing an activity I got kind of weak and ate .
Interestingly enough my nutritionist and doctor both said to never fast past 18 hours , but I’ve read otherwise

Btw I did take sea salts ,magnesium and potassium when I tried fasting that first time

Lost 15 and it came to a dead stop . I’m only eating protein and veggies, plus my frozen yogurt treat , but it’s made with stevia and when I tested my blood sugar it never spiked.
I weight myself once a week . I don’t really see checking your weight daily making and sense .

As I mentioned betreen walking and pumping iron I’m doing a lot of exercising . I’m thinking maybe do another fast soon , minimum 36 hours

are you tracking your calories?

target weight pounds X 13 = target calories max/day

200 pounds target weight = 2,600 calories max/day.

it's all math. there's no magic. you can't beat the law of thermodynamics.

you're eating/drinking too many calories.

and get out and walk an hour a day.

I agree , too many calories is the only thing that makes sense , and yes I walk for close to an hour daily .
It sure AF doesn’t seem like I’m eating much tbh though ,but math is math
