49% of young adults live at home, up 12 points since 2019.

https://fortune.com/2026/07/09/half-young-adults-live-home-financial-support-parents/

The data comes from the Fed’s Report on the Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households, which found that 49% of adults ages 18 to 29 live with their parents, and another 47% of adults in that same age group received help from someone outside their household to pay an expense—money toward a cell phone bill, general living expenses, or housing costs. Notably, those aren’t the same population, according to Laura Ullrich, director of economics at Indeed Hiring Lab, who has studied household formation trends for years.

Everyone lives at home bro.

If they didn’t live there, it wouldn’t be home

I don’t even…

Also, wealthy people maintain large multigenerational homes because they are smart and haven’t been manipulated.

A home should have huge families in it. It is rational, serves multiple purposes, and aligns with human nature.

in a way sounds like the price many boomers are having to pay for being part of such relatively prosperous times. a lot of 25-40 year olds living with parents or other older family members. some will say they are just lazier but perhaps being fully adult in the 70s-90s indeed made it a little easier to get ahead in.

i remember in the late 90s my brother buying a little brick house in his very early 20s once he went to work at a $9-10/hr factory...around $450 house payment...also drove relatively new vehicles.

my mom's family didn't have much money and they lived 2-3 generations in a sorta large farmhouse -- maybe 15-20 people at times. Grew crops and had livestock to eat so with 15-20 people the family unit could easily scrape by. great grandmother could make food go far. If you needed a babysitter plenty of 12-20 yr old girls around. At least 3 or 4 had at a time had vehicles so the ones that didn't have vehicles/too young could usually get rides.

absolutely pathetic. How are they even having sex lol? Their parents are probably working from home and have some modern home secruity system in their boomer mansions.

I don't know anything about this. I was out my parents home at 18. Once I was gone that was it, never asked to come back, never asked for money to survive. One brother stayed until he was 22 - him and his wife still leech off of my mother, the other stayed until 26 and had our mother take in his pay and feed him back an allowance until he met his future wife at 29.

if not married/planning to be soon -- not staying and taking the time to cut many years off retirement age is probably dumb...

What if you were related to Johnvee or alllifter

Would you still want to play happy families?

Not trolling 1% . The drunken mongoloid next door used to live upstairs because his aunt had the basement. This one time he brought a hooker home , all the while his mom is in the adjacent room .
I asked him wasn’t it a little weird smashing a whore right beside your moms bedroom , to which he replied I can’t wait till my aunt dies so I can have the room in the basement.
Srs you can’t make this chit up. The drunken mongoloid always delivers
