I feel like we're living in one of the most dystopian points in history right now
I wonder how the new generation sees the future, the people that are like 18 years old right now. Anyone of you know?

As a second consolation, I'd say the concept of an x-topia requires some connotation of futurism to it, so yeah, now we're close to a dystopia, but is that world being so terrible, or just terrible+futuristic? Nobody calls the dark ages civilizations dystopias.
I suppose you do also have the connotation of convergence though - maybe we're spiraling towards a final state of terribleness, and that's certainly no consolation.

the standard of living is far better than it was 10-20 years ago.
“I mean we had a seven for one improvement in the average American standard of living in the 20th century. Now, we had the great depression, we had two world wars, we had the flu epidemic. You know, we had oil shock. You know, we had all these terrible things happen. But something about the American system unleashed more of a potential to human beings over that hundred years so that we had a seven for one improvement in — there’s never been any — I mean, you have centuries where if you’ve got a 1 percent improvement, then it’s something. So we’ve got a great system. And we’ve got more productive capacity now than we ever have. The American worker is more productive than he’s ever been. We’ve got more people to do it. We’ve got all the ingredients for a sensational future. It’s just that right now the athlete’s on the floor. … This country is going to be living better ten years from now than it is now.” – Warren Buffett

Just wait until the tech gets good enough and adopted enough by states/municipalities. The next generation of Flock esq cameras will be monitoring every minute you are on a public road, it's not your road after all, what privacy do you deserve? So every yellow light you speed up at, every stop sign you roll through, every half cracked out pedestrian that's J walking at 2am when you are buzzed and you side swipe him and get out and notice he's alive, but blood is pooling under him. So you go to roll him over, but you remember finger prints. So you give him a kind of kick slash shove with your shoe and he doesn't react. You look around for cameras, but not too obviously, because you have been trained that the "look for a camera face" loses to AI juries in court as an admission of guilt. So you pretend like you are kneeling down talking to him and react as if he is asking for you to leave. You do a whole choreographed "are you sure" and "I'll call for help" with your hands reaching for a phone that isn't there. By now you have noticed three cameras on you and the clocks ticking. You get back in your car and start going home. Its been 7 minutes and two cops are already at your house waiting with evidence in hand and a warrant electronically signed at 2am in 1 second by an AI judge. They find your newmisc sex doll, they're mirin, you wake a free man.

The peak was probably about 2016
The only time that was worse than now was after the 2008 crash but we are due for one of those

The one aspect about the idea of dystopia that goes under the radar…
The reason why it is so uncomfortable to us, is because it is based on aspects of our current reality that we have ignored and our subconscious knows it.
Welcome to the reality revolution.
