As a 42 year old forever single guy I literally don't have any incentive to work hard or to have ambition

I don't need to provide for a family

That eliminates incentive to work hard

I already know I'll be single forever

That eliminates ambition

Such as to do things to "better" myself to attract someone for a relationship

For example, a lot of guys would be ashamed to drive an old car with fading paint from 1995

Or to be living in a basically empty studio apartment with minimal furnishing and a mattress on the floor as their bed

Or to eat alone in the mall foodcourt

But as someone who doesn't need to impress anyone it's not an issue
