Long enough to prove to myself I don’t need it like I thought I did.

And then I kept going just to be safe.

I smoke a lot of weed and never got cravings for alcohol so I lasted a few years without drinking. Just not my preferred substance I guess but I recently started drinking again

Haven’t had a sip of alcohol since I was 23 years old srs. That was back in 2019.

I was never a drinker either (although my father and grandfather were BAD alcoholics). Still, I would fuck around in high school but I never enjoyed it at all. I remember when I would start to feel drunk my immediate thought was “well this is retarded, I can’t wait for this to end.” It also made me talkative AF and I’m naturally a quiet introverted dude.

Don’t plan on ever drinking again. I’ll cook with wine occasionally but for the most part I believe alcohol is poison to the mind, body and spirit. Life is better without it.

Decade plus. Really don't remember the last time I drank.

If you're a drinker past the age of roughly 25 you are part of the lower class. And I'm not talking financially.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I've never tracked because I've never been a big drinker

Probably anywhere from a few months to a year..I have no idea

I've only had 4 or more drinks in a night a handful of times the last 5 years

When I was younger I could take over a year without drinking especially when I was taking lifting serious. Recently I took off like 5 weeks. back in decemeber. Then I took about a week off a few months ago.

When you stop drinking, alcohol hits different.

Not because you’re weaker. Because you’re healthier.

After months sober, your baseline improves: better sleep, sharper mornings, stable energy, mental clarity.

Then you have a few drinks.

Suddenly you feel wrecked for days.

That’s not weakness. That’s awareness.

Your body is showing you what alcohol actually does. You just never noticed when you were always drinking.

Once you’ve experienced consistent high performance, moderate drinking feels like a massive setback.
That’s progress.

Are you willing to feel what sobriety actually does?

As an adult. About 4-5 weeks only cause I had to to do physical work on weekends otherwise it’s 1 bottle vodka or whiskey or 2-3 bottles wine or 20 beers every single Friday and Saturday night and extreme anxiety on Sunday and Monday
