How many of you guys are getting colonoscopies around 40?

I had some issues down there a while back and saw a proctologist, figured out what it was via a simple inspection.

Yet on reddit people are going in and getting full blown colonoscopies before they're even 40, only to find hemmorhoids or some other benign issue.

Surprised that in this day and age that's the only way to examine the colon, sticking a huge metal dildo in..

I had to get a colonoscopy in my early 20s because I was shitting blood srs.

They ended up removing a polyp and I've been symptom free ever since. But it was one of the most miserable experiences of my entire life. I've never been raped but I imagine that's sorta what it feels like. Humiliating AF mane.

I'm actually overdue to get another one but I've been putting it off.

I have one friend whose sister died of colon cancer at 41. A family member we got colon cancer at 42, and a buddy of mine who got diagnosed at 44 whose recent scans showed the cancer came back. If you have a family history or symptoms, there's no reason not to get it checked out if you are over 35

70% of colon cancers are found in the sigmoid colon, the side that connects to your rectum. this can be found during a flexible sigmoidoscopy which is much less invasive than a colonoscopy.

the average 40 year old has a .01% risk, or 99.99% chance of not having it. not inly that but 90-95% of polyps are benign

Mario doesn't believe in such things. He has skin cancer, but he'll cure it with more sun exposure to the affected area.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

This. Had mine done at 34 due to family history of colon cancer (Dad had it at 45). Pretty easy experience overall, the whole not eating/drinking for 24hr sucked. All I wanted was some coffee.

The fear is if your colon is punctured during the procedure, it's a high mortality

3rd most diagnosed cancer, 2nd leading cancer death

You gotta, people are getting diagnosed with it much earlier in life than before.

When I was like like 30 I had diverticulitis and crohns and a thingy ruptured and I had to have surgery where they removed part of my colon and I almost had to spend the rest of my life with a colostomy bag

Luckily my surgeon was goated and I'm fine now

But I should get one soon. That was about 8 years ago give or take.

It's crazy cause when it ruptured I actually thought something was wrong with my dick. I would try to pee and my penis would hurt so bad I could not even put it into words. My stomach hurt too really bad but the pee thing freaked me out
