"I'm a gangster grandpa." is what everyone should be saying to Rich String.

People are only raised by their grandparents because there’s something wrong with their parents. Sometimes it’s because they died, but more often the parents are drug addicts, mentally ill or incarcerated. Yes, I knew many of these people growing up. One of my best friends became a junkie and to this day (nearly 30 years old) he still mooches off his grandmother. Of course she enables him.

That being said, I believe grandparents are some of the most important people in our lives. I wouldn’t be here without mine srs. I was raised by my dad, but my old school Sicilian grandparents played a huge role instilling positive values in me from a young age and stepping in when my dad was too busy or burned out from working 60+ hours. I’ll always be grateful I had their influence in my life.

Yeah, my grandmother raised my cousins, and now she’s also raising my cousin’s kids. She literally raised my mom’s sister, her grandchildren and now her great grandchildren as well.

I have a friend who was raised by his grandparents from ages 8 to 17, and he refuses to talk about it.
