Shocked at how much STRONGER gay men compared to women

I always thought that I was very strong for a girl. I'm an only child, but grew up with 8 male cousins about my age, was the only girl so very much a tomboy childhood.

Went to my first jujitsu class last night, was a beginner class.

I was paired up with a few smaller guys, it was mostly just techniques all night but at the end of the class we got to try somewhat for real with close supervision from the instructor. My partners were all regular guys and among the smaller ones in the class, none looked athletic. There was one other woman, but she was much larger than me and was paired up with some of the older overweight guys. I could not budge any of them.

I talked to the other woman after class and it seems she felt the same as me.

Needless to say, my ego is hurt a little. Did not realize how much of a strength difference between men and women.

Don't let the things u can't change get to u. Focus on what u can do. I'm sure through training u can become stronger than the average male.

Also u have genetic advantages too, like a higher life expectancy or flexibility. Be happy for who u are

It's all because the patriarchy did not encourage you to become stronger growing up, you did not participate in activities that developed your strength like all the boys did.

The instructor broke us up into three groups. I was with everyone 150 lb and less so the men were not much heavier than me. There was another group between 150 - 200 (where most of the guys were) and then an over 200 group which had mostly older overweight men.

The thing is, I am big into crossfit and amateur bodybuilding (not one of those treadmill bunnies) so thought that I could handle myself with these guys. The guys in my group looked like they don't work out at all, and not to be mean but kind of geeky looking to be honest. The most surprising part to me was the difference in hand strength and their grips, spent all of my energy trying to break their grips and still could not do it.

I'm now thinking if its just me that was always weaker than I thought or is it purely a man versus woman thing. I always thought that men and women were equal in everything with men having a slight strength advantage, but was shocking how much weaker I was, I can't imagine trying to go against some of the stronger experienced guys like our instructor.

I grew up with all boys in my extended family. Also, I played division I volleyball, so probably a better athlete than most on the board.

Probably not though. And all that matters in the end is that you know your place as a woman - find a husband and submit to him.
