I have to admit, I'm nervous about Trump

I think the only reason people are voting for him is because he's the only one calling out the truth, and not being politically correct. And also because the other candidates were atrocious.

Fcuk, I feel like both candidates are terrible choices tbh. I'd still prefer him over Hilary, but I'm concerned about the complete lack of nuance in his opinions, along with the extreme levels of narcissism. Would he actually listen to advice or ever change his mind? Seriously, would you feel comfortable with him having the power to use nuclear codes?

The thing that makes me less worried is that fact he probably wouldn't have the power alone to call a nuclear strike, or to invoke something as extreme as he sometimes suggests.

I'm more nervous for Hillary. She will sell out the US to the highest bidder, or whoever can offer her the best offer personally.

Maybe Trump's patriotism is overblown, but I don't feel like Hillary gives much of a chit about this country. I think the Presidency for her is all about her own power grab.

I'll be voting for him, but I'm hoping that he's not as overconfident as he makes himself appear to be. Maybe he's sort of taking on this persona because he knows that's what it takes to win the election. And when he gets elected he'll calm down a little bit and start listening to advisors especially on foreign policy. That's what i'm hoping anyway

maybe at some point in the distant past
but since WWII the executive branch has been accumulating more and more powers

the ability to start "police actions" aka wars
imprison people indefinitely without trial was stepped up under Bush2 and Obama has continued it
targeted assassinations (drone strikes) again stepped up under Bush continued under Obama

I would say the ability to order military action, carry out arrests and detention and kill with little to no oversight from the legislative or judicial branch is plenty enuff power to wreck some schit in the wrong hands

Sam Harris makes a good point that we are all assuming/hoping for this, but there's no indicators that he will. From my perspective, I think that the political race is a giant game, and would assume he will calm down in office.

1991 during the 'credit crisis' The House Task Force on Urgent Fiscal Issues called Donald Trump to help advise them, it wasnt hilary or ted cruz.

it was a man that turned 1 million in to over 9 billion dollars from BUILDING things and operating businesses like a fuking boss for over 30 years. employing people from EVERY race or creed as long as they could be a stand up person and do their work well like anyone should aspire to do.

Trump is a persona. I don't believe he's really as 'radical' as he sometimes acts or as made out to be. He needs to be too, consider how dominantly left-leaning and liberal western culture and mainstream media is nowadays. No limp noodle, wall flower conservative would stand a chance. They'd be ignored and easily trivialized. Trump, however, is intentionally controversial so much so that the msm is forced to forgo their political reporting bias in favor of covering him for views/ratings, even if they disagree with what he says. It's actually pretty brilliant, but I agree that he walks a very fine line.
