Good afternoon,

Today, it was decided that we could not take our daily untimed lunch break at Mastros (white collar office worker, masters degree) as we were being paid a visit by our most important client. Instead, our lunch break was reduced to a mere 2.5 hours.

Due to this inconvenience, my colleagues and I decided to patronize a "fast food" restaurant called El Polo Loco (Polo means "chicken" in Tradie. Don't worry, I didn't know this either).

I began to observe a gaggle of tradies, like animals in a zoo, to try to pick up some of their language and customs. Here's what I learned:

"See" apparently means "yes"
"Polo" means "chicken," as stated before
"Cabron" means "young sir"
"Football" is some sort of sporting match for poor people
"No" amazingly still means "no"! (Except when a tradie is trying to seduce an unwed mother at TGI Fridays amirite?)
