Started reading "Irrational Exuberance" by Robert Shiller yesterday (the guy who helped derive the CAPE ratio, aka Shiller PE).
One of the better investment books I've read - it challenges the status quo and is backed up by historical data and surveys.
It's a complex read, but very worthwhile.

This is one of those crazy rallies where current traders/managers have never experienced before. Look at the charts: The dow had massive run ups leading to 1929 and then in the 1950s. We've only gone up 3.3x from the 2009 lows. That's nothing considering we've had bull markets which rallied the value over 10x. So DJIA 60k in the next one to two decades isn't out of the realm of possibilities.
Time Stamp 03/06/2017: BUY US SHARES, SELL BONDS. I say the DJIA will reach 32k by 2020 and there will be a massive correction in the global govt. bonds market.

Is there a post limit? I don't see why we aren't on the original thread to be honest. It's not like market data/discussion ever becomes "irrelevant", it just becomes historical.

Time Stamp 03/06/2017: BUY US SHARES, SELL BONDS. I say the DJIA will reach 32k by 2020 and there will be a massive correction in the global govt. bonds market.
Main reasons are that interest rates will be in the 3-4% range by then, meaning that new bonds will be more attractive and the money supply will be tighter.
Also the election hype will have died down and stocks will trade less on speculation. Lastly, U.S. GDP as a percentage of the world hit its peak in 1950 (28%) and has been declining since as emerging markets caught up which can indirectly influence stock prices.
I do expect the U.S. to become more competitive as regulations are relaxed and GDP to grow faster than 2%, but not to the point where earnings catch up to its current unusually high valuation. There will be corrections (whether numerous in amounts or one significant one) that bring the market down to average valuation levels within the next few years, which is about 20k in 2020.

^Foreign capital inflows will be a main driver for the rally. The USA will be seen as the safe haven of the world so the US$ will rise, US market shares will rise, and gold and interest rates will rise.
The Euro will probably be extinct by 2022 and the EU will be gone.

if SNAP puts in another 2 red days or so, I am a buyer.
Seeing a lot of people claiming victory and **** already, too much attention on this, it won't die yet.
Won't fizzle out all the way until it traps enough people up higher. IPO first 3 days was round 1, more rounds coming.

Anyone been eyeing any international opportunities?
And completely got out of my TSLA trade. Got it at $194 out at $250.
Pre-tax annualized return of about 115%.
If TSLA gets in the $200 range I'll buy again with a price target of $265, selling half my shares.
