Dodge Demon Came out

The numbers: 840 horsepower; 770 lb-ft of torque—the world's most powerful production car V8 engine. 2.3 seconds 0-60 (world's fastest for a production car), 5.1 seconds to 100 mph. Quarter-mile: 9.65 seconds at 140 mph, the world's fastest production car quarter-mile, as certified by the NHRA. In fact, that's so dang fast, Dodge says the car is "officially banned by the NHRA" for being too quick for a production car to run at a drag strip without a cage.

And yes, shockingly, this is all covered by Dodge's three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and, even more astoundingly, the automaker's six-year, 60,000-mile drivetrain warranty.

Dodge will build only 3000 Demons for the U.S. market, and 300 for Canada, in the 2018 model year. Production begins in late summer, with delivery to dealerships taking place this fall. Pricing has not yet been announced, though however much it costs, each buyer will get a free day of driver training at Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving.

cot damn... a sub 10 second car straight from the factory AND a faster 0-60 than the newest GTR.

I can imagine this thing being upwards of $130k-$150k

In all honesty, there would be no reason to have this thing as a daily. MAYBE a weekend cruiser but chit it's probably 9 mpg on a good day.

Better off with the R/T or even SRT8 with the 5.7 hemi, light mods (exhaust, intake, cams, solid tune) and get some decent power for a fraction of the cost

Don't consider myself much of a car guy, but damn that's nasty. Would definitely get a muscle car like a Challenger if I were to splurge on a weekend driver.

Who the fuk cares about mpg with a car like this? This is a weekend warrior you take out on Friday and Saturday nights and destroy all that's around. Neither of the options you have has 840/770 or comes even close without serious mods.

One of my old work colleagues has a Hellcat and I've seen him drive it maybe 3 times. Said the only time he got to "open it up" was on the way to Vegas from Southern California. I'd never get one of these unless I became ridiculously rich. I would absolutely have the 6.4 as a daily driver though. Great power and vehicle for mid 30's, low 40's new.

Exactly that's what I was getting at. It would be a fantastic weekend car definitely. BUT even serious modification would still be cheaper than this.

Twin turbo a 6.4L hemi and full build including trans is about 40k total. So 40k ish for the car plus that, still cheaper than the Demon.

Is it worth the struggle? Nah lol. I'd just fork over the cash for the Demon.

Older dude brings a Hellcat to the local car show. He loves the chit out of it but is at the gas station more often than driving lol

Said it before, would definitely have a challenger, one of the best looking cars any country makes, great stance and noise.

Bit confused though. Fastest standing quarter? On drag slicks? How is that stock/road legal? Hard to believe it's quicker than a p1 or even a veyron/Chiron it's so damn heavy. The tyres are always an argument at the Nurburgring for the same reason anyone fill me in?

"Drag radials" are legal on streets here.

Basically slicks with 2-3 lines of tread in them lol


Mickey Thompson ET Streets are the most popular line of Drag Radial. I think Nitto NT05 are DR's as well.

Put a lot of miles on srt challengers. Fast enough to be super fun without the insane aspect of the hellcat

There is no better muscle car available

I would disagree with this. My number 1 reason for not having a newer Jeep SRT8 is because put them next to a normal Jeep GC and they look the same.....put mine next to a normal 07' GC and they are vastly different even by non-car people.

The Demon has 315 wide tires stock, fender flares to accommodate them. A hood scoop that no other flavor Challenger has. The sound, the stance, the tires, the wheels.

I would agree between Hellcat and Scatpack they are hard to distinguish and even now they have a v-6 Scatpak called something else. Further they have another sub model coming out that looks like a Hellcat (to take over scatpak's).


Fiat is a gloppy mess right now with distinguishing the sub models I would agree however, the Demon looks vastly different IMO.

As an older guy seeing a production car in the 9s is ridiculously impressive. It wasnt long ago that a 9 second car was fully built and not close to street legal.

Depends, GTR's come stock with pretty much DR's just a little more tread for corners and speeds upwards of 170mph

The options list for the new 2018 Demon isn't long, but there are some interesting things you won't find on most production vehicles.

For instance, it only comes standard with a driver's seat. That's right, the front passenger seat, and rear seat, are options.
Perfect car for a FA.



I'd rather have the Trailhawk. Top speed of 180 mph and can knock out a 1/4 mile in 11.6 seconds
