whats your strategy if a pitbull is coming at you ready to rumble?

you have no weapons to choose from. just you vs the dog. you're on the street and it's running at you aggressively about to attack.


is there a strategy?
does the pit like to lunge for the arm/throat or just latch on to the leg?
punch? kick? gouge? choke?

its gonna bit ur hand and arm before you can injure the eyes. honestly i dont see a limb not in jeopardy when fighting pitbulls, and other large aggressive breeds.

Could you try time a kick perfectly to try kick its skull as hard as possible? I guess it wouldn't have much impact.

ok i would use footwork to try to control the distance and try to grapple dog. use my legs and hamstring strength to neutralize threat. work to sink a rear naked choke or even something with my legs. destablize its base. use my weight against the pitbull. my natz and of course limbs would be in srs trouble tho

the reason I ask is one of my neighbors just got a pit and the lady that walks it looks like she can't control it and has trouble with the leash. I gotta be ready

thought about this often. I think I would give up my left arm for bait and once it's locked its jaw I'd bash his head as hard as I could until I kill it. I don't know if that would work though.

I doubt there's a real strategy and you're probably gonna take some good damage before killing him, if you do.

I'd like to say kick him but dogs have pretty good reflexes and there's a good chance he'd get ahold of your foot and mangle it.

Do my best to avoid it taking me to the ground. Ideally, I'd like to get behind it and attack that way. Jump on it, break it's legs, etc. Worst comes to worst, I'd try to offer my weak arm and hope it latches onto that while I try to fight myself free with my strong arm.

Live in a nice neighborhood but I always see one couple at the kids park (baseball field, soccer field and jungle gym) with their pitbull off the leash. Disgusting. How irresponsible can you be? Strongly tempted to call the cops or something.

My first instinct would be to try hitting the pit in the face with the soles of my shoes via stomping motions, or straight kicks to the face if I'm wearing my steel toed boots. If it gets to me, I'd try to punch the chit out of it in the face with closed fists to protect my digits from being ripped off. If nothing else, I'd start going for eye gouges and just smacking the chit of it with as much force as I can, in any way possible.

The good news for somewhat fit brahs is that the stories you hear about pits literally killing people are when they go after the elderly, children, and sometimes women. A reasonably fit grown man who lifts is not an easy target for a pit, and fending one off by hand is feasible. The biggest concern will be not letting it rip your fingers off or get to your face. Fighting one pit would suck, but they are still a domesticated animal that are biologically meant to fight in packs, and it's not like a random one attacking you on the street will have specialized police training or anything beyond what some thugs taught it. Thus, they will have numerous weaknesses against a worthy opponent like a fit grown man when it's 1 on 1.
