I won't lie I did deadlifts till I was 18 and realized they were terrible for you. I did squats foe a while longer but stopped those as well. Once you cultivate a certain amount of mass you just stick with hypertrophy.

if your goal is purely hypertrophy deadlifts can certainly have an alternative, but if someone likes deadlifts, then do some fukin deadlifts (safely).
Squat is a little different, if we include front squat in here I would say its rare to see someone with top legs without either of those exercises though totally possible. if you mean general population good, yeah you don't need either of those.

@melkthecet not injuries exactly, but just overall lower body. Have been having hip and knee issues from sports, so that has something to do with it
I also strictly do front squats, if that has anything to do with it.

Most people have glute pattern dysfunction. They never address it. Complain about lower back always being sore.
Both exercises are KING of the crop when done correctly. People have to do drop the weight and learn how to get glute recruitment in just about every single aspect of life. The ass is where all your power and explosion comes from, and is constantly crippled from the hours of sitting and other **** we do everyday.
It's talked about, 98% just keep doing what they do. Don't change b/c they feel comfortable with w/e bogus program they follow.

Feel like god when finishing a good squat or deadlift session. I could impregnate a lady just by making eye contact.

If I had to go back to doing one it would he squats. Deads widened my hips, rekt my back, tore skin off my hands n shins (so badass right?) Guess I grew out of it.

i stopped deadlifting, still squat though, but i understand how it can damage your body when you hit 400+ squat any break down in form that pressure in your spine would wreck you.
Ever tried, ever failed..

If you knew anything about anatomical adaptation and how important that is when you start training, then maybe you could be throwing up heavy compounds and making real progress.
I'll take going from 6'4 165 pounds to 6'5 240 in past 6 years, going from db benching 20 pound's to a 305 max, etc. and be content with it everytime.
I get smarter every single day, I will train smarter every single day, and will keep making progress every single day.
Welcome to the marathon, bitch.

OP and people like him want to appear strong, while not actually being strong; Vanity muscle Lifts and dat der cell tech(which I have nothing against) is what they're interested in, because they want to be fuarking zyzz brah!
Personally I want to be a Strongman at the highest level so squats and deadlifts are essential, OP probably just wants to look good naked, and he probably does based on that avi; no homo.
