If a man hit your sister when she hit him first, what would you do?

I've been reading a lot of threads in the misc where a woman hits a guy first and then the guy hits her and a lot of you are saying that she deserved it because she attacked first.

But let's say if it was your sister that gets into it with another man or her boyfriend. Things get heated and she starts attacking him by hitting him. Low blows and everything, she's hitting him all over the place. The man gets angry and hits her and does a good deal of damage. What would you personally do? Since she technically did hit him first, do you just let it go or do you beat him up?

All rationality goes out the window, too, apparently.

If you are going to kick someone's ass for hitting your sister (even if she hit first), then you have no right to ever hit a girl back in self defense. Stop with the double standards, boyo.

Idc, im not going to sit back while someone attacks a family member, sure i'd hit a girl back in self defence as well. It doesnt have to be rational

Afterwards i would tell her she shouldnt have done that though

Then you are, admittedly, an irrational person. You would be upset if someone hit your sister in self defense, yet you have no problem hitting someone else's sister in self defense. Family won't mean much when you're prison, parroting "it doesn't have to be rational" over and over again.

I think you should go back to preschool, tbh.

So you'd sit there and let your sister get beaten up because she deserved it?

Why am I a psychopath? I'm not the irrational one here.

I have a sister, and was raised in a family where we don't hit people. We don't put ourselves in situations where violence may occur. We were raised to avoid those types of situations.

Your tough guy, "shoot first, ask questions later" attitude isn't impressing anyone. You're not tough, you're not strong, and you're not cool. You come off as extremely ignorant. You'd probably beat someone up for hitting your sister because she is also your wife.

I'd intervene, but I wouldn't hit anyone. These situations don't occur out of no where, and I feel that my sister partially deserves what's going to happen. There would have been warning signs that she chose to ignore. If this were a random attack, then it's a different story (as that isn't even within the context of this thread).

In essence, she is an adult, and she is responsible for herself, just like I am. I'm not around to police anyone, and I have better things to worry about then the scuffles my siblings get into.

Idk how I would react in the actual situation, because I dont have a sister. Could depend on the sister.

-If she's a aggressive, ball-busting, kunty type, I'd probably assume shes tough enough to handle it, and she asked for it.
-If she is my sweet little sister, who has always been a saint, felt like she was wronged very badly in a situation, and in a emotional outburst hit a guy who deserves it (with zero power, because she is a sweet little girl), and the guy hits her like she's a guy, I'd probably go apechit on him. Idk if I could handle a younger female, sweet family member being abused like that, I might go into an irrational rage (not proud of this).

Of course the right thing to do is split it up and diffuse situation like the person above said. But who knows, never been in the situation, so idk.

I dont see how you can watch someone hit a family member, a female one at that and not rage. Do you lack testosterone?

I have more than you, considering I've got a few inches on you in terms of size and weight.

I'm smart enough to learn to restrain myself. Animals react impulsively. Retards react impulsively. Acting impulsively is how you land yourself in prison on a manslaughter charge. We'll see how important your sister is to you when you're left alone in a cell for beating her boyfriend up (whom, btw, she got back together with after).

A "regard" for people isn't solely defined in terms of physically defending them. You can care for people in other ways besides hopping in their personal business and doing impulsive things that might land you in trouble because "FAMILY IS FAMILY BLOOD THICKER THAN WATER HUUUHHHH". Sounds like you had a real bad upbringing if you equate physical defense and violence with "care".

Starting to think you kids have some sort of variation of Oedipus syndrome.

So if he swung on her, assuming she hit first I'd probably try to just diffuse the situation rather than attacking dude. If that didn't work and he was hell bent on beating her half to death then I'd have no other option but to fight, I suppose. The chances are however that it'd be diffused and I'd just go about my business.

Edit:
With that being said I did punch a friend of mine for hitting on my sister, because I thought he wasn't the kinda person I'd want her to date. So I can't say for certain this's how I'd react.
Questions like this're not really useful in the long-run because until you're faced with the situation you've no real idea as to how you'd actually react.

If I'm witnessing the ass-kicking then yes I would intervene. Would do the same if someone came after my brothers as well. If it's after the fact, then me fighting someone does nothing to protect her. What would be the point in that?

Yes, you are a hothead. You lets your emotions cloud your ability to apply logic and reason. In the grand scheme of things, you are a liability to society. You can't be depended on because you don't have the mental capacity to consciously force yourself to logically reason. Everything is subjective to you, nothing is objective to you.

Humans are guilty of many natural cognitive biases. This is one of them. Sure, this worked in the wild during evolution. It doesn't work now in a civilized society, and there is a stigma associated with emotionally-driven people, especially males.

Controlling your emotions and preferring to problem solve logically does not make you "soft". If anything, it gives you all the advantage. Imagine if our doctors and lawyers were emotionally driven people...

Learn to train yourself to stop being such a bitch.

Does it matter if it's a sister or a brother? Don't have a sister but I'd catch any charge for my brother for any reason. So if he hits someone, it's going down no matter what.
