some chit with concentration of electrolytes vs time at a certain boundary due to laminar and turbulent flow and diffusion. had to make a bunch of assumptions.

the concepts behind most phenomenom are easy, the method to perform calculations are hard.

average score was a 38/100 on the test. to get an A, you needed 55/100.

honestly don't know why they made me learn that chit. was hard as phuck.

I had to do stuff like that in my electrokinetics hydrodynamics course though that actually didn't end up being the most complicated. That would be a tie between linear operator methods in my advanced mass transfer course or population balance modeling for particulate systems.

Three things stand out:

ODEs, cause **** that.

Linear algebra. I am mentally incapable of grasping base transforms and changes of base.

(and doing that and Diff Eq at the same time damn near killed me).

Probability. The math itself was easy, but we had a prof from MIT and she taught it the MIT way. Ho lee ****.

This is a homework solution from MIT's course page, pretty similar to what our assignments looked like.

Was always terrible at maths, but the hardest is probably Financial Mathematics and some kind of stats(No idea what it is in English)

Diff EQ fo sho. I am old is dirt and can still do basic calculus but I don't remember a damn thing from that class.

Not that great in math, but somehow always passed with at least a B

Business Application Mathematics in college sucked dink. All extremely long word problems where you have to setup the equations on top of solving them.

Barely passed the class a C.

hmmmmm 3-D calculus wasn't amazing

some of the math for quantum physics/relativity annoyed me

and then I took this class on the mathematics of code-breaking senior year college that I recall as fairly hard.


LOL @ everyone saying diff eq, I took that chit in high school. All I remember is Laplace transformations all over the place tbh.

I actually thought combinatorics, probabilities and statistical analysis was the hardest to wrap my head around for some reason. Had a much easier time with diff eq:s, linear algebra, analysis, etc.

Fourier transforms suck ass too though. Goddamn.
Without the internet i feel like a small rock on the mountain.

I don't really want my posts on the internet tbh ... I'm just legit addicted to posting ... people become addicted to the internet look it up

I don't think any math that I've studied is hard for me. But I do reckon looking at what PhD math students study and fainted.

Why is Maths difficult exactly? There are rules to follow. All you need do is follow them. That's what I heard from someone with a master's degree in mathematics from Oxford. .
