Jake Gyllenhaal Might Replace Affleck as Batman

New rumors state that Jake Gyllenhaal might replace Ben Affleck as Batman in upcoming DC films.

Affleck has stated his desire to make a cool exit from playing the character, and if he does so before The Batman, movie pundit John Campea says director Matt Reeves has his eyes set on Jake Gyllenhaal as his first pick to don the cape and cowl (via Screen Rant.)

Initially Campea said Reeves had an idea of who might replace Affleck as Batman, only now clarifying that Gyllenhaal is who the director had in mind.

If Jake replaces Affleck as the caped crusader it would be the second time a Gyllenhaal stepped up to help the Bat-franchise out, as his sister Maggie took over the role of Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight.

This could work

Jake has this "damaged" look about him that would go with all that batman has been though

Ben sucks as Batman anyway

This. Sorry Gyllenhaal dink riders but cringing at the thought of him as Batman.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

They'd save money on the bat suit by picking up a kids size for his 4' 11" frame.

This ^ it would be going from bad to worse.

But, IMO Michael Keaton was the best Batman yet.

Karl Urban on the otherhand is just fun to watch and brings any movie hes in up. Look at Dredd and Doom. Total dog chit scripts strictly speaking on the story and dialogue no depth. Ive seen both 12+ times each because of him. Chit role they gave him In Thor Ragnarok a real insult to his abilities although 9/10 movie.

Wish they’d take a break from superhero movies for the next 5 years....legit raping the characters by constantly swapping actors for new ones, new series, new director, new direction...just let the dust settle for fuks sake..

I wish they'd just stop using Zach Snyder and also stop making superhero ensembles. Get a serious director like Denis Villeneuve and focus on one interesting character.

Agreed even though itll never happen because its the biggest cash cow they have. For real though i havent seen a noteable original idea from Hollywood in the past 5 years, they just keep recycling the same chit.

God forbid they spend multiple movies actually building the background and the rivalry between villains and heros instead of smashing origin story, middle fluff, and end battle with ultimate villain showdown into one film...

Yeah I literally have zero interest in watching them now. No Avengers, no Batman, no Spiderman... nothing has even tempted me at all.

well hey now, let's not forget that Zach Snyder was the man responsible for one of the best superhero films ever made, in my opinion at least. this bad boy was serious, dark, entertaining, genuinely interesting, and brilliantly cast.

Me neither really. I watched Xmen: Apocalypse and Dawn of Justice last -- both pretty terrible. The last one I enjoyed was probably Deadpool.

Hm.. I was really disappointed with it tbh, Watchmen is my favourite graphic novel. I think it must have challenging adapt. I didn't like the pacing, how characters were developed, casting choices, the amount of dialogue they had to cut by necessity, removal of rhyme of the ancient mariner comic within a comic, changing of ending, etc.

Fking hated watchmen til I saw it like the 3rd time. Idk why, but now I love it. Sucker punch was unique too, loved the fictional settings so much. Could make whole movies based on places like those.
