I regret buying iPhone X because it's a POS
If you are thinking about buying one, seriously don't. I've never struggled to like an iPhone until now, and I've owned iPhones since launch (upgrading every couple of years) but after using the X for less than one month, I can't believe what a fuqing disaster this is and how bought most review sites are. WTF?!
Issue 1: Face ID fuqing sucks and is the main reason I'm trying to return this POS. It's a dumb idea in the first place and it's a lot less user friendly than the goat touch ID on the previous iPhones. It's a lot slower than touch ID (looked it up and it does actually take twice as long), it constantly fails unless I position my phone at a specific distance and angle to my face, and it makes unlocking the phone a pain in the arse. You can't take a quick peek at something on the screen now or quickly lean in to look at a text because it requires your face to come into full view. With Touch ID I could just tap the home button and it would authenticate and unlock the phone in one quick move. Here, you have to pick it up, point it at yourself, swipe up and wait for it to not work, press cancel on the keypad which appears automatically (why doesn't it retry immediately??), swipe up again hoping it will work this time. WTF?
Issue 2: Headphone jack situation. I knew I wouldn't be able to use my headphones while the phone is charging and without the embarrassing ass dongle. What I didn't know was what a sorry ass state the wireless headphones are in. The top reviewed $200 wireless earbuds I've tried (several) are not even in the same league as my $100 wired earbuds in terms of sound quality. Most reviews praising the various wireless headphones for their sound are full of chit and when you call them out they go 'what do you expect from wireless headphones? of course the quality is worse than wired." Everything from Sennheiser to Beats X (who claim they fixed their stupid bass sound) sound from OK to chitty. They jack up their treble and bass and sound decent with hip hop and modern chitty music but anything with actual instruments sounds awful. Also, many of them have audio lag when watching youtube videos. Just lol at this chit.
Issue 3: Camera protrusion. There is now a massive ass dongle hanging in the back of the phone. Not only is it ugly as fuq, it's now difficult to type anything if you have your phone resting on a table, as it wobbles and shakes with every tap due to the uneven back surface. This is really fuqing annoying.
Issue 4: The notch. I never expected to hate it so much. There are no redeeming qualities to it, it's always just in the way. It covers a part of the screen when you are doing something full screen, and it even blocked APPLE'S IOS NATIVE POP UP MESSAGE. How fuqing chitty can you get? I spent a decade looking at a square screen so now my mind is always wtf-ing at this thing. Apple could have at least put it at the bottom of the phone so it looks more natural and sees your face right away for Face ID.
Issue 5: The construction is chitty. I was talking on the phone just today and felt a painful arse bite on the side of my face when I was done. There were two fuqing hairs stuck in the crevice between the screen and the metallic side of the phone. dead fqn srs. It ripped my beard hair out! And the sim tray is not flush with the phone either. Its' edges are sticking out and this is a $1250 phone.
Thanks for the fuqing animoji chit I'll never use though you fuqing *******s. Stick that chit straight up your ******* asses. Return period is 14 days too. LOL. I'm looking into selling this chit on eBay and getting a 6S again.
CLIFFS:

Repped...thorough review
I can never buy anything brand new due to so many issues they hav
You would think that the engineers would know the issues with it from the start

I personally like it but I agree the faceId is an absolute nightmare. The screen is really stunning though and the camera is amazing.
However I do miss my 6S and it's features.
Just like anything, there's a learning curve. Putting a case on mine fixed the camera protrusion and the hair pulling. Battery lasts for-f*ckin-ever too

this reads like a bought review, I have an X and I like it a lot, face ID works almost every time i look at my phone and I don't have to deal with touchID failing because my fingers clammy or cold or there's crud on my thumb from eating chips or some ****.
I seriously don't think any of your complaints are actually real use case complaints and seem to be the talking points from an android article hating on apple products.
I am hardly an apple pig and think the galaxy and note are great phones. I think people like to over exaggerate how much they need a headphone jack or a touch ID because people just generically do not like to have things taken from them, even if the replacement is more efficient.
I don't often need to unlock my phone in situations where i'm not looking at it.. turn off eye awareness it might help you srs. mine works in my bed with my head on the pillow and a rather large beard etc.

Should've just got the iPhone 8 instead tbh, much more aesthetic than the ugly X. Was playing around with the X the other day after using the 8 and was just in disgust. the phone is garbage and feels like garbage.
I like to look at the X like it's an experimental phone for them, not the one you want..maybe in a few years when they perfect that style but since it's the first for them of this style it's going to suck.
The 8 followed the path of the 6 and 7 so it's well done and improved

Note 8 is amazing. Samsung Pay > Android Pay > Swiping a poverty piece of plastic > Cash > Apple Pay
The fingerprint reader is in a ****ty location but Face unlock works better than my friends X. The Note also has Iris unlock but don't like using it as much as regular face unlock.

I wasn't about that no-headphone-jack life. Also p*ssed that Apple has pretty much been running on their name and relying on technological updates rather than advances.
- I really like the expandability with a mini SD card
- For what I use it for, I'm absolutely in love with the ability to download and store documents
What makes me doubly mad is I am, however, a huge fan of Apple's linear operating system. There are some things on the Note 8 that make no sense to me and can, at times, feel like either a duplication of effort or they didn't fully think out the process of how a user would utilize a particular function. Go figure, as I'm typing I can't think of any, but as I use it throughout the day, little things will have me thinking, "why wouldn't they design it this way?" Not enough for me to go get cucked by Apple again, but annoying nonetheless.

Also, just lol at claiming that missing headphone jack is not a problem. If you don't often charge while listning/watching videos or you don't know what good headphones sound like maybe but I'm missing it quite a bit.

edit: i suppose its really about how you use your device and I'm not a big fan of headphones in general would rather play it out loud or airplay a video to my tv over watching it on my phone.

lol was expecting a list of typical fandroid bias but those were a list of detailed, semi-legitimate although meaningless complaints.
1. Touch ID sucks more. Maybe you need to calibrate your face? It should work similar. I hate Touch ID, my fingers aren't always perfect but my face is.
2. Its a raw and real inconvenience. I tried to keep an adapter in my wallet. I hate going somewhere and wanting to use an AUX cord to this day, and if im not prepared I cant, it has spoiled some times for me. I just cant say im not mad at this.
3. EZ fix get a case.
4. I like the notch actually. Its artistic design symmetry low key. And the screen has so much pop widescreen youtube looks brilliant and the notch just disappears in the black bars.
5. The construction is epic and a masterpiece of aesthetics, premium materials. The fact your beard got caught is a testament to the CNC precision to 1/1000th of an inch.
At the end what matters is the basics and the eco system. Enjoy the content consumption device dont be afraid of change. Focus on what content you use on the phone, not the phone itself.
For that merit, it is perfect and beautiful.

I've listened to some wireless headphones at Best buy and they sounded pretty good. Granted when hooked up in the store they are wired so you might be getting better sound. Need to buy new ones because some POS broke into my truck and stole my headphones, dongle, and wallet last week. Figured since I have iphone I should just go wireless, but can't decide.

WTF?
Did you spend any time setting up your phone? You can have it show previews without being unlocked...
You must be an audiophile snob because no one I know who has the iPhone X or any other phone using bluetooth headphones has complained about $25 wireless headphones I've recommended to them, much less more expensive ones.
Issue 3: Camera protrusion. There is now a massive ass dongle hanging in the back of the phone. Not only is it ugly as fuq, it's now difficult to type anything if you have your phone resting on a table, as it wobbles and shakes with every tap due to the uneven back surface. This is really fuqing annoying.
get a fukin decent phone case..even slim ones will eliminate this issue only reason this should be an issue is if you refuse to use one, in which case you better not come here crying about how fragile it is when you drop it and it shatters
Apple could have at least put it at the bottom of the phone so it looks more natural and sees your face right away for Face ID.
lol not a single one of my apple banner notifications have been blocked by it. maybe your phone is bunk, or maybe you're just falsifying this.
Its' edges are sticking out and this is a $1250 phone.
maybe shave your fukin face, never heard of anyone having this issue with the X nor have I had it myself. nor is the sim tray not flush. perhaps you really did by a bunk phone.
Thanks for the fuqing animoji chit I'll never use though you fuqing *******s. Stick that chit straight up your ******* asses. Return period is 14 days too. LOL. I'm looking into selling this chit on eBay and getting a 6S again.

WTF?
Did you spend any time setting up your phone? You can have it show previews without being unlocked...
Apple could have at least put it at the bottom of the phone so it looks more natural and sees your face right away for Face ID.
lol not a single one of my apple banner notifications have been blocked by it. maybe your phone is bunk, or maybe you're just falsifying this.
Its' edges are sticking out and this is a $1250 phone.
maybe shave your fukin face, never heard of anyone having this issue with the X nor have I had it myself. nor is the sim tray not flush. perhaps you really did by a bunk phone.
Thanks for the fuqing animoji chit I'll never use though you fuqing *******s. Stick that chit straight up your ******* asses. Return period is 14 days too. LOL. I'm looking into selling this chit on eBay and getting a 6S again.
CLIFFS:
- FACE ID fuqing blows
- Wireless headphones are all arse
- Camera makes phone wobble
- Notch
- Chitty construction
- Apple are *******s

Face ID is amazingly quick if you actually pick up the phone to use it. Faster than my TouchID ever was, and more reliable too.
