Anyone else alone on xmas eve and xmas day?

Damn this feels weird for me, im normally a pretty extroverted person who likes to be introverted at times but have no one this year.

Moved from Aus to Toronto a few weeks ago and know no one here, and start work next week. Usually spend it with family & friends but yeah, wondering how many other miscers are doing it solo this year?

Why would anyone move to Toronto, that place is horrible. If you're gonna live in Canada at least move to Montreal.

Me.

I live in Las Vegas. Mom lives in San Francisco. Dad lives in Charlotte, NC.

I'll probably just be playing poker with all the degenerates.

Affirmative. Like 3rd or 4th Christmas eve and Christmas alone. You start getting used to it. Who knows, I might not even drink until I black out tomorrow

Yeah long story but parents and family hit the final straw with me so I'm going NC indefinitely.

It's really fine with me, people I know are all "awwww" and I'm like **** that, I'm having a blast.

The egregiousness of their behaviors towards me actually started compelling me to improve my life faster than I already was.

It gave me more of a chip on my shoulder, I've just always had this feeling like we could never be close cause I was too different from them.

1 parent I’ve seen happen many times, cutting off both is quite unusual. Hope you’re well fam and 100% confident in yourself that you’re making the right decision.

Sometimes we’re better off without people, other times we react irrationally perhaps in the heat of the moment, long as you know you’ve made the correct choice. Not tryna go soft but always here if you need anyways.

LOL nah man I can't **** with my dad of the premise, that he'd almost always go along with my mom's ****.

I got tired basically of my own family trying to abuse me, it'd been happening literally my whole life.

Final straw was older brother puts his hands on me at my parents house, literally assaults me, he's 36 and I'm 35.

I don't have time for that bull**** bro I'm 35 ****ing years old and I'm gonna have to put deal with that ****?

What made it worse bro was getting married a few months later and I was supposed to stand up in his wedding.

I straight up told him "don't talk to me or even think I'm standing up for that **** unless you come to me as a man and apologize".

I think he thought it was all gonna blow over, be swept under the rug and everything's all good- problem is ****'s been getting swept under the rug my whole life.

He never did, then my mom, who witnessed all of that basically put my dad up to telling me how "if I don't wanna be part of the family then go".

She couldn't bear to have that black eye on the wedding (**** me though), and instead of acknowledging my brother was wrong she wanted to use me being a member of the family as leverage on me. (WTF, who does that?).

Then to add insult to the **** I saw them at grocery store the other day and they're trying to talk to me as if nothing happened, like this is supposed to be some recurring thing where everybody crosses the line with me and then acts like it's all good the next day.

Nah, I don't need those kinda people around me.
