Dude came into my shop with a FIREARM

Cliffs at the bottom

Basically I sometimes work part time for my dads auto shop in Southern California where they are pretty strict about firearms.

I’m sitting in the office, everything was fine, slow day and I had the game on when my girlfriend knocked and said there’s a customer waiting for their vehicle in the waiting room.

I didn’t think anything of it and then she told me he was strapped with a pistol on his hip.

So I walked out, see this mid 50s looking guy with a mustache and sure enough, strapped with a gun. I asked why he had a gun and he said for self defense.

I tried keeping my temper down but basically Stone-cold said to him get the **** out before i call the cops guy. He started getting all bent out of shape, told him his chit would be dropped off.


Made him sign the bill and kicked him out. Dad said I did the right thing



Cliffs: kicked out an open carrier for trying to come into my business and intimidate people

Sounds like a possibly aware thread, but OP had the right to do what he did. It's their shop, their property, their rules. Plus, we don't have open carry, here. He was supposed to keep that chit concealed.

Lot's of businesses have signs that say no firearms on the premises. It's his right to carry in public, but your shop is a private business. You did what was right for you.

Thank you! He was technically outside by his friends truck waiting but the parking lot is still city owned and I know they wouldn’t be too happy

Actually, if he was on city property and had a permit, then he is within his rights. If he comes into your business, you can tell him to leave.

why are you intimidated by a firearm. was he pointing it at you?

maybe you dont understand why people open carry firearms. its not because "mine is bigger than yours" its because its easier to get open carry license than concealed or some states you dont have to have a license. open carry doesnt mean the guy is an idiot and doesnt know how to use a firearm
most people dont want to bother with anal probing by the government.

you should be glad normal people carry guns. you never know when he might save your stupid ass from some tweaker trying to blast your business for whatever reason or if you re at the mall... you get the point

Hold on. You left out that detail. So he wasn't in your shop, but city property? He was well within his rights to conceal carry since it was outside of your premises. Now it sounds like you went in full libcuck mode at the sight of a firearm.

Was he open-carrying or printing, though? That's my question. If he's printing, even if OP called the cops, all the guy would have to do is call the cops himself, and tell them he was called out for printing, give a description of himself, and he'll be good to go.
