AMG. Better combo of luxury and performance. If I was still in school I'd probably go M.

I'm missing the point as to why you would get the M if you were in school but you prefer the AMG.

Hes saying having an M in highschool is sick, but driving one when you're 35 isn't.

The benz is an older man's car.

AMGs are mostly unruly to drive (C63 excluded) rather than the drivers cars BMW M cars are.

This is mostly based on Chris Harris reviews over the years however.

Like an E class? The trannies on both were in their awkward puberty stages, wouldn’t buy either one tbh. Clunky and unreliable but the powerhouse would win my over on the M5 if I had to choose.

The new gen of M-line BMWs is truly something to behold. You just have to test drive one to know what im talking about even if you don’t end up getting one.

I have an “M”235, (before they started putting m in everything and before the m2 came out). I’ve driven my share of AMG and M cars, they are all sweet but I think you’re missing a manufacturer.

Porsche >>> AMG/BMW

Given that the current m3/4 is at the end of its life cycle I'd go with the C63. I'd choose the new m5 over the new E63 though.

No manual option for the RS.

I don't understand why anyone would get a performance vehicle without a manual transmission, so that's an automatic vote for the M. Just me personally though.

Lexus F line > AMG > M

brb my M3 is in the shop again
brb my C63 depreciated by 50% in 50 miles

Driven my F over 25K miles and I can still sell it for as much as I paid for it and I've spent less than 1/3 on maintenance ($0 on repairs) then my friends with E92 M3 and C63.

Fast
Reliable
Holds Value

They say pick one- but you can have it all boyos!

I had a 2016 C63 S sedan for a year before it died on me. Wish they looked more aggressive like the older models, but the interior was incredible. Engine was insane and I still dream about the ****ing sound that car made but it did handle like ****. Was tuned by the dealer and unbelievably quick for a four door family sedan. A little under a year I experienced some massive electronic malfunctions, was in the shop for a month before I got it back and had the same thing happen again.

Traded it for a 2017 M4 with the Comp pack and its better in every way except straight line speed. Car feels more well put together, handling is miles and miles ahead of the C63 and I love the exterior more every time I look at it. It's a bit slow but all things considered I think it's a better car.

If I had to do it again knowing what I know now, Id go with the M in the beginning and have it tuned. Best of both worlds IMO. Both are amazing cars and you can't go wrong either way but I'm now paranoid with AMG cars and experiencing the same issues as I had before.

M over AMG. Porsche, Imo, is in a different league with the 911 GTR. That's approaching supercar territory. BMW and MB are squarely in the mainstream luxury segment.

BMW generally may have less straight-line speed but more cornering/handling ability. Although, lately, they've sort of taken their eye off the ball. The E39 was the last great M5. Same with the e38 7 series. Those were A-game BMWs. The new ones aren't bad, make no mistake, but they're not quite as communicative as they used to be. I'd still take a Bimmer. I've only driven BMW, so I can't make a direct comparison. Pundits have found likewise. Both look good on different scales. BMWs tend to be more traditionally styled, which I prefer.

There is very little that can compete on all fronts with the N/A C63's and the M156 engine.

Here is my C63 with headers, cat delete and resonator delete.

With that being said I still love the E92 M3's and RS5/7, will probably be a toss up between those two for my next car project.
