I think it's more about the small things that women do for you that really stands out and make you want to be with that person. And vice versa.

Trust me on this. I have been married to the one since 11 years now and we are still madly in love with each other. And fighting is almost non existant even with 2 kids.

This is what I have so far and it's cheesy of course.

Relationships will always be work--but you'll need to find someone that works "with you to solve problems" and not "against you to prove a point".

So even if it's work, it feels easy. It feels as if you could slip through each day being happy as long as you have their company.

They push you to be your best and you push them to be their best. Needless to say, you have each other's back without question; a bond and loyalty that makes them your best friend.

Compatibility: you have like morals, interests, goals

An understanding of each other's flaws/weaknesses and the ability to handle/address these things.

And time: I think time is one of the best ways to tell if someone's the one. Passion fades, but love and a mutual belevolent partnership can endure so long as there is effort and communication.

With that all said, always remember people change throughout their lives, there's never a guarantee. Life is about change that shifts with time, for the better or worse.

there's no one dummy. look at the population of ur area, narrow it down to your dating slot (women aged 23-32 or something), take even 1% of that number for people who are physically and mentally compatible w you and get a feel for how many women that is.

No such thing as "the one" : There are several of them out of millions that could possibly be a life-long partner, you just decide that you can't get any better than the current one and settlle down for good.
