Why are black people making such a big deal out of the Black Panther movie?

I see people saying its because this is the first black superhero movie but that is complete BS, they had Pootie Tang more than 15 years ago and nobody made a big deal out of it.

It has to do with environmental development factors. Most black people want to create a positive environment to foster potential, potential being the possibility to achieve financial success, family success, positive relationships, healthy self image/self esteem and perception by others.

I watched a news story a month ago about straight A students in inner city schools. The school had 17 fights so far in the school year and numerous gang related incidents, teachers being assaulted etc. They focused on this one black girl with glasses very nice kinda nerdy looking. All the gang banging, assaulting teachers, drugs etc was not her reality. She was able to rise above it because of self motivation to achieve, likely good parenting, and it may have helped she was "a dork" to be frank.

Most people are not as strong as her. They will conform and assimilate to their environment. This is true for all ethnicities. If you can change self perception and perception of your group you can foster positive growth more easily.
