Black Panther to be Top Grossing Superhero Movie of All Time in US

Black Panther is on track to surpass The Avengers at the domestic box office this weekend to become the top-grossing superhero movie of all time in North America.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, projected weekend numbers put director Ryan Cooler's Marvel movie ahead of The Avengers' $623.4 million haul in 2012, unadjusted for inflation. On top of that Black Panther ranks sixth among only seven films to ever reach $600 million at the domestic box office.

Additionally, Black Panther is on pace to surpass Iron Man 3's $1.2 billion global haul by the end of the weekend to become the third-highest grossing comic book movie worldwide. The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron are currently the top two, with $1.5 billion and $1.4 billion, respectively.

watched it today, don't get what all the hype was about. It wasn't a bad film it was just average. Plot was very predictable and to be honest there wasn't even that much action

Only reason is because its called "Black Panther" had a massive SJW push behind it. I havent seen it but i know its not a bad movie and is probably decent. I can gaurantee though it is not better than Dark Knight and doesnt deserve to be the highest grossing of all time.

Isn't this almost every movie though? Good guy wins at the end.

Obviously we knew T'Chala wasn't ****ing dead when MBJ beat the living **** out of him and threw him off a cliff(arguably most beta thing to ever happen to a protagonist in a Marvel movie), because there was an hour of the movie left.


6.5/10 for me. I didn't leave the theater impressed or disappointed.

I think there's a good number of people who went to go see Black Panther mainly to support the movie, not because they're necessarily huge fans of the character or are heavily invested in the MCU.

I haven't seen any superhero movies in theatre in years now. I think Man of Steel was the last one tbh.


Got so sick and tired of a new one coming out each year. I don't even care about them now, if they pop up on netflix I give em a watch, but that's it.

It was pretty good but definitely did not live up to the hype. I thought Thor Ragnarok was better. TDKR movies blows all those superhero movies out of the water though

Bullsh!t, we all know what the hype was about. All the wonderful, underrepresented African Americans FINALLY getting a black superhero movie! So unheard of! So amazing! They should sweep every award ceremony and start a holiday to celebrate this movie thatliterally changes everything.

It's ****gy identity politics. They tried to pull the same chit with Ghostbusters Girl Power, but that movie was so trash it didn't work. But Black Panther looks decent enough where they can brainwash legions of people that it's the second coming of Black Jesus or some chit because they like using people's inner bigotry and unwarranted racial pride as a marketing ploy. I still think it looks like a decent movie for Marvel, but think it's completely ridiculous how people call it "brave" and "empowering" and "Earth shattering" and every other hyperbolic term. It's a fukkin movie.
