Girlfriend wants me to pay for our furniture, she won't make arrangement
So we moved in together recently. Now we need to buy some furniture.
She has no savings, I have around 100k savings. She knows about this (i know i know big mistake).
Now she wants me to spend around 10k on furniture "to get us going". For me that's ok, since that furniture remains mine anyway (I can prove it with the receipts). But in exchange, I expect her to save and pay for the rest of the furniture in the future (also around 10k). She won't do that. She says she will pay anything she has, but she won't make any commitments or any arrangements with me. She totally starts to freak and thinks I don't want to give any of my money and thinks I'm a greedy ****.
All I honestly want is for things to be fair so I wouldn't get screwed if/when our relationship ever becomes doomed in the future. I've read enough horror stories about partners stealing half the other partner's money to be cautious on this front.
TLDR:
- girlfriend has no savings, I have 100k
- we need furniture
- she expects me to pay for it (around 10k)
- she won't make an arrangement where she pays the furniture we need to buy in the future
- we fight ad can't come to an agreement, she thinks i'm a greedy **** and not invested in teh relationship

Buy furniture in your name
Leave it at that
If relationship ends take it with you
I was in same boat. You cant realistically expect someone with $0 to now toil for $10k for furniture--right or wrong it will create animosity and certainly end.
Maybe find a solution where she contributes in lieu of $$$ like cleans apartment or makes meals. Or just buy in your name and leave it at that.
Money is the biggest relationship-ender. Be careful unless you DGAF.

Cliffs
- shes the better looking one in the relationship
- youre going to get screwed hard srs. Many women deliberately engage in these relationships to gain leverage over their partner in decisions exactly like youre describing
- if she was plain jane 5/10 you wouldnt even have to think twice about this
- who the fuk spends 10-20 grand on fukking furniture in a bf/gf relationship. To me this is a "wow we just got married and wer spending the rest of our lives together" decision

You are at a fork in the road of life, you going to head down the path of alpha or cuck? choice is yours
With that said in real tea, it's hard to hate too much on the situation without knowing the full context. I mean for example if she is younger and simply not done with education and into her earning potential yet, no big deal.... just be sure she plans to make up for it down the road and know the chit is yours if the relationship goes south before then. A relationship should be 50/50 in a total sum of all it's parts, it's that's simple.

Put it on a credit card and you guys split the payment?
Edit: Nevermind don't do that because WHEN you guys break up one of you (most likely you) will be stuck with the payments.

WTF are you buying that costs 20k in furniture. This is just retarded af. You could literally spend 1/5 of that and just invest the rest. Seriously go to IKEA or some chit. What are u doing bro? Is she the one that wants this expensive ass furniture? But anyways whats the rest of your relationship dynamic like? Does she pay for meals occasionally or treat you to chit? Cause right now it sounds like you're taking Ls with this girl

A) why the fuk are you spending $10K on furniture you retard. Thats like 10% of your savings on furniture - wtf?
B) why the fuk are you being a tight/greedy kunt, just buy the furniture.
I swear to God, it seems like 90% of the misc nowadays are entirely made up of lower rate taxpayers. I dont get it at all.
If you want expensive furniture - buy it.
Presumably your girlfriend cant contribute because no savings / she earns fuk all - so how / why would you expect her to pay for it in the first place?
If you choose to date a girl who has a low income - then you gotta be prepared to fukin pay for everything, or you just dont buy nice chit. How would you expect her to pay with it? Monopoly money?
Edit: if she is the one that wants expensive furniture, but doesnt see why she should be the one who buys it - then dump her

Yeah, spending ~10% of your liquid net worth on furniture because someone else said you have to is a great idea.
Here's another one, since it is your money, spend what you want to buying the furniture you want, or spend nothing and live with what you have.

Lmao
Fkn lol @ lots of women squandering away their money for their weekly wine/girls night binges, while many guys will actually save up for a meaningful future.
Having a vagina doesn't amount to much. What else do you have to offer to the table?

Because in a realistic relationship, there's more to it than "feelings" for each other. Equally sharing the burden, including financial... should be a pretty fair expectation. If this isn't met - expect lots of tension. If you choose to date a girl who has a low income - then you gotta be prepared to fukin pay for everything, or you just dont buy nice chit. Common sense... lets hope OP realizes this. If this r/ship is so one-sides that she negates her own responsibilities/accountability, to try and at least reciprocate financial gestures... I've got bad news OP.Positive Crew
