Ended car lease early - what do I lease now?

Got a Subaru Legacy just over a year ago on a 36 month or 36,000 lease. Just passed over the 36k mark (drive a ton for work), so now I need to decide what to get when I go turn the car back in this weekend.

I'm seriously considering an Outback for more space. I'm also considering a BMW X3, but the AWD version is pricey.

Requirements:

1. AWD / good in snow
2. 4 doors
3. Comfortable for long (300+ mile) drives

Reps for answers
480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

Unless you make $$, leasing a car is the worst way to own one. Currently getting 'fleased' myself right now.

They roll your remaining lease payments into the new lease, so unless you want a $700 payment, looks like you will be walking for the next 2 years. Or you could just keep driving and buy it out in the end.

My mom has an outback from 2017.

The daytime running lights need to be turned on maually. They don't come on during the day unless you switch your headlights from "auto" to "on".
The steering is meh.
The premium stereo system is weird as **** to adjust. ****, we got stuff to adjust at 2000k, 25000k, 2600k, etc. Have no idea wtf that means, and default settings ruin my music.

Why not? Run out the lease every 12-18 months and get a new car. Dunno why you'd take 3 years to drive all the miles.

Lmfao, what kind of music do you like? Google "how to EQ stereo for ______ music" and it's that easy. I use the classic disco smile/smile EQ for my mostly trance and house listening.

That's not true. If you don't make $$$ or have a business then leasing makes total sense depending on the residual value of the vehicle.

just lol @ zero knowledge of finances

That being said, if you're ok with driving a car for 9 years then yeah, there is no point of leasing.

If the leasing company lowballed the residual value it ends up working out nicely

You realize that nobody is writing you a check for that "residual value" ? Leasing sucks. The finance guys will get their money. Just buy a cheaper car and save the payment til you can buy a nicer one. Then when you hate it, you can just sell and not deal with those guys.

No one has to write you that check because the bank already bought the car you dumbass. You're eliminating the entire process.
