Giants in Afghanistan

I've stumbled a couple of videos about this already and it seems very true. I wonder if Americans ever visited the cave again and killed the rest of the giants that lived there...

the bible is probably one of the best Histroy books we have available. I know a lot of people don't want to believe, but look at all the stuff happening today people refuse to believe. Cubits aren't an exact length. Its likely Goliath was anywhere from 6'5-7' tall (Realistic heights) and was jacked/had good genetics. People that are super tall tend to be skinny have a fragile frame. And we're talking someone that was a warrior. No way he was 9 or 10 feet tall.


And the average male height at the time was probably 5'4-5'6.

I think people misunderstand two major things with respect to the Bible and historical accuracy:

1. "The Bible" is clearly not just one book. The typical Protestant Christian Bible is fifty-something books and the Catholic Bible is seventy-something books. The Torah/Pentateuch is only the first five of the Old Testament. There are countless Apocryphal books.

2. Of the many possible books of the Bible, yes, some are historical. But that's not the majority of them. Many of them are poetic or musical. Some are legalistic. Some are "wisdom" books.

To your point, there are certainly some parallels to history and what's in the books of the Bible, but I wouldn't necessarily take the historical facts contained within as gospel (pun intended) because the writers had a penchant for using metaphors and borrowing from other (who knows how reliable) sources from centuries before.
