At least there's actually lore that supports this in the comics.

And, again, Steel is part of the Superman lore, so casting a black actor to play him is perfectly fine.

There is a Black Superman I just forget what Earth he is from in the Multiverse.
Also, having Earth-0 Clark Kent be black totally goes against all of DC's storylines.
Plus we already have Cyborg. We also now have a Latina and Black Green Lantern in the Justice League. As well as Wonder Woman. So playing field is pretty even.

I just read that too. Huge blow to DC movies, this may set them a few steps back closer to the Disney superhero movies but yet it can give them a chance to catch up to their GOATness!

Geralt > Superman
Witcher > DC
Netflix Original still[/] > DC
As for Michael B Jordan being cast as Superman... isn't the whole point that the actor at leastsortalook like the character that they're portraying when it's based on a preexisting character whose likeness is ingrained in the collective cultural conscious? Less prolific ones it's easier to get away with because acting talent and persona trumps appearance, such as Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (of course, Samuel L. Jackson is basically an icon, so howcouldyou complain?). Or a case like Green Lantern where there were multiple iterations - I didn't even know this because my only exposure to the character was as a child with the Justice League cartoon from the 90s, so him being cast by Ryan Reynolds was more of a surprise to me at first.
Regardless, I'm with Avalanche3319 - just let the bloody thingdie, at least for now. Or how about doing this crazy thing calledwrite a new character. Write a whole lot of new characters instead of trying to bring the band back together for the umpteenth time only for it to fail spectacularly.

DC needs to go on a break with live action and stick to animation for a while. Their movies have sucked for a while now outside of Heath Ledger knocking it out of the park a decade ago.

Samuel Jackson lent his likeness to Marvel comics for the ultimate (parallel) universe in the early 2000's for Nick Fury.

To those who think it's not a problem
Would you think it was a problem if they casted an obese lady with a feminist haircut, looks like she would get out of breath simply from sitting up straight... as superman?
I can see why people think people are racist for not wanting this, but people that think that are just simply not good at thinking logically.
Goes both ways, goes every way... I wouldn't want a black guy, or a white guy, or someone with Indian features, or someone that that resembles anything other than a 150lb asian male, that looks similar to Bruce Lee... to portray Bruce Lee in a movie about Bruce Lee.
