I post garbage

You are all delusional, and you are just under the effects of chemical secretions in your brains. All the emotions you feel -- the pain, the love, the anger, the fear -- it's all just a distortion of the reality. We all view the world through a poisoned lens of emotion. It clouds everything we see and makes us behave in irrational ways sometimes. Your past affected your current state, but your current state is what ought to determine your future. All your memories are just configurations of cells along with some electrical signals. We are just biological robots. We could probably medicate our way to true love and happiness if we knew exactly what would make us feel that way. It's all a sham. All that really matters is whether you put your 5 ml of genetic information into a vagina and she squeezed out another worthless fuking human. And even that doesn't really matter because we are just stuck on this fuking rock and it's all fuking doomed. Just fuking lol@humanity. Just fuking lol@life and love and other such trivial *******ry. I am going full Vulcan mode from here on out.

Absolutely wrong.

Love is when you put someone elses needs before your own even at the risk of personal sacrifice.

Love in the romantic sense will always be bull **** for people who only see and feel love with their eyes. Most people dont understand love even in the most juvenile sense. Love is when it doesnt matter if your wife is a burn victim or an old decrepit woman. You still love her because what you feel transcends the physical plane of existence. Unfortunately as technology makes it a matter of minutes to find another romantic or sexual partner this type of love is disappearing.

I think most "love" is just attachment, most ppl do not truly love their significant other. That being sad I think its smart to be aware of these things but dumb to let it control you into thinking your some cuck if you do try to "love" someone.

idk its weird.. i guess what im most curious about is how deeply it can be ingrained.. like

there are relationships with your friends. but then theres the relationship with your parents..

so, perhaps its neural connections or neuron construction but how come your parent elicits that explicit response but then the guy walking the street doesn't elicit the same response? where is the distinction and how does the brain know that one is the other?

why is losing a parent more painful? perhaps its habitual but you change habits everyday (i mean, maybe. just certain habits fall by the wayside sometimes and it doesnt matter)

why does one hurt more than the other? how can the brain discern length of time through memories?

i got questions mayne

If you think that you're in a place to make statements such as these, having never been in a relationship, you're not as smart as people seem to think you are

We all do. But what if your mom had an identical twin, and you saw that twin die horribly in front of you, but you didn't know she had a twin? How would you respond? It's clear the stimuli that discern the different responses are the same ones we use to distinguish between everything -- light, vibration, olfactory and gustatory receptor binding, mechanical deformation of skin, and maybe balance/gravity. Losing a parent is painful because we have all these emotional memories tied to their memory. When we realize someone we care about has died, there is a huge emotional response of grief. IDK how we store memories or perceive time, but there has to be some way. They know that certain parts of the brain are devoted to the perception of time over specific timescales.

i guess.. how does the brain discern magnitude? why is one loss greater than another is what im getting at. why is losing someone you grew up with more painful than, say, losing your job. they're both losses

subjective belief?

id say within our culture time may even be a subjective belief. i know there's a universal theory of time, but in regard to our memories, ours will be shaped around time on earth - 24 hours in a day, 365 days a year, etc. but on another planet that chit doesn't happen. could be 72 hours in a day and whatever else.

so, it seems thats another subjective (more cultural) belief.

idk. whatever.. lots of chit we dont know about the brain

IDK but I bet it's related to how many powerful emotional memories you have connected with that person. You are right that there is lots of stuff we don't know, but we do know that all the stuff we feel is tied to specific brain functionality. It kind of makes you question its validity in reality when it could, in principle, be artificially stimulated once we figure out how it all works.

There's levels to love and relationship investment. If you're smart you don't go full high school teenager in every relationship. For most people that happens passively anyways..you develop defensive mechanisms or learn to read people better.

Regardless, drugs aren't even comparable to dealing with other humans. A drug is far more predictable.
