That state funded welfare is trash, we should help people but it should be my decision how much I pay and where that money goes. I feel a lot different about paying to cure a 12 year old's cancer than I do paying for an 80 year old's who treated their body like chit for 60+ years.

I think our govt. and/or military has probably mastered or gotten really good at quantum computing. If something hits the private sector it’s something that govt. is already pretty far along in compared to what we see. That computing capability along with other technologies means there is no telling what types of things people have been able to accomplish behind closed doors.

I'm not sure I would go as far as "mastered" but certainly there's a huge effort to be the first and some are close. If China for instance were to beat us to the punch, we'd be so fuked. Just look how much of a national security issue a 5g roll-out has become and how aggressively we're trying to hamper China's efforts, and they ours.

Gotcha, totally agreed. I bought a home recently and my broker hardly did chit, she didn't come to a single open house or showing, didn't even go to the final walk through. Just showed up at closing and collected her 3% split. I really only needed her to navigate the board application process and "work" with the sellers broker.

you can do that if you want. we involve agents and lawyers in deals because we think we can't trust each other and the documents are scary.

the question is do you lose more than 6% by restricting the deal to buyers who are willing to forego agents?

the real problem is that people buy and sell houses constantly and hemorrhage a huge amount of wealth as a result.

If the universe is next-to-infinite, and has been around for a next-to-infinite amount of time, then there should be a next-to-infinite amount of intelligent life in a next-to-infinite range of technological advancement. Meaning that we should easily have been contacted and multiple times. But we haven't.
