OKLAHOMA CITY —
Multiple children were injured Monday after being attacked by a dog that became loose on the playground of an Oklahoma City elementary school, officials said.

The dog attack was reported at Fillmore Elementary School near South Blackwelder and Southwest 44th Street.

Fire officials said 28 children in 3rd and 4th grades and three teachers were in the playground when a dog,described as a brown and white pit-bull, became loose and began attacking the children.

Officials with the school district said the dog made it into the hallway and was tackled by a teacher.

School officials said a total of 12 children suffered injuries, but none of the injuries were critical. Five children were taken by ambulance to local hospitals, while seven were taken by their parents' personal vehicles.

The children suffered superficial dog bites and some escape injuries while they were running away, school officials said.

No teachers were injured, officials said.

Police said they have the dog in custody.

I know a woman who owns a pitbull that killed her friends parents dog. Unprovoked took a chunk out of its head killing it.

I went for a walk a couple of days ago and walked by a house with a pit bull in the backyard. Dog went crazy barking at me and running back and forth alongside the chain link fence until I was well out of sight. Made me feel like a piece of meat.

I have known many dogs that for some reason, dont like children, even if they love random adults. Pitbull was just trying to balance the universe.
