I live in Atlanta but work out of Charlotte. Charlotte seems way nicer and definitely less crime but if you know where to go and where not to go in Atlanta its really not that bad besides the traffic. Only stay at the epicenter in Charlotte though so not too sure how bad it is in other areas.

You shouldn't have any issues in Charlotte as long as you don't start no chit. There are urban youths, but Charlotte police don't fuk around. Stay out of West Charlotte though.

I can't speak for Atlanta

Nashville is better than both if you have a choice of cities in the region...

Live in Atlanta
Have family in Charlotte

Would NEVER move to Charlotte....and dont buy the hype about Atlanta. The suburbs in Atlanta are some of the nicest/best in the nation. Downtown sucks though, that is for sure.

Raleigh is better. Charlotte isn’t bad. Smaller than Atlanta. I hated Atlanta. Charlotte has ghetto areas though. Some nice areas towards dillworth and stuff.

Charlotte has no more ghettos than any other city and has considerably less than ATL.

Charlotte is less ghetto. And is on the up and up especially the surrounding areas like concord and huntersville etc and the other suburbs of charlotte. Great food nightlife etc. I recommend concord tho. 10 minish from charlotte and less of the bigger city probs and more space.

I lived there my first yr after the army. Moved now to greensboro area cuz of work.

Raleigh is great too

I agree with you on suburbs but i dont think downtown is that bad either. I went to Georgia State and never had any issues . Used to study in the library until 1 am sometimes and then have to walk to my car and never had any issues.

I am also 6'5 so i dunno if that matters or maybe i was just lucky lol.

I have rental property in the fourth ward in Charlotte and went to college in the area. Used to spend every other weekend up there for a few years. Charlotte is a good time, lots of restaurants, breweries, etc. it’s nowhere near as big as Atlanta. Atlanta is generally rowdier and way more urban youths. Personally, I couldn’t stand living in Atlanta, it’s way too congested, ghetto, etc. just not my scene, but a fun city to hang out in for a weekend. Charlotte is also closer to outdoor activities if that’s your thing. Good hiking, hunting, mountain biking, etc.
