here's my coach monte. i saw him a few times and dude is legit he will get you on the path to golf mastery with his youtube vids.

buy his videos, they're all amazing especially the short game one.

the narrowness is deliberate, i've been working on a 'single plane' swing where the arms follow the plane of the shoulders. You are talking about a two plane swing, which I used to have and is more powerful but I wasn't particularly straight with it.


My goal was to get the butt and head of the shaft moving on the same plane all the way up, all the way through. As long as I clear my hips, it works great. Id need to draw some lines on the still frames to illustrate that.

basic golf geometry: (from left to right for a right hander)

pull hook (over the top plus closed face)

pull(OTT plus straight face)

slice/fade(OTT plus open)

straight

got to two last year (not this swing), before being lent the Jim Hardy book, simple change to set up and feels much better..deep winter here obviously so no competitive rounds for another 3 months unfortunately

Yep, that's what i spit out to my buddies when my draw/fade/ doesn't come back as it lands in the woods too bro. But then again...i don't claim to be a scratch golfer neither.
