80's were GOAT for pop music. The last era when stars were organic and songs told a story.

This is song was goat too. So was Arthur's theme and sailing.

Christopher cross was and is very underrated. Such a unique voice

It's a shame their most famous song isn't even theirs. It was written by somebody else. Simple Minds were to Scotland what U2 was to Ireland during the 80's. They had lots of good albums before they recording this song for The Breakfast Club, then they changed. It's a good pop song, but it didn't really sound like Simple Minds' other stuff. Look up New Gold Dream 81/82/83/84 and Sparkle in the Rain for what the songs they wrote sounded like.

I just took a listen to gold dream and it sounds like Duran Duran or a handful of other 80s tunes from the period which is a compliment on my opinion
